Burgess COMMENTARY |
Chinese-run sweatshops anger Italy workers ... Locals find themselves up against migrants in race to produce ready-to-wear clothes for the cheapest price. Chinese factories in Italy are not only driving the 'fast fashion' industry of cheap goods, but pushing Italians out of an industry that has historically been identified with them. Now, locals in the textile industry are upset about the fast fashion, or 'pronto moda', coming from Chinese workers - with Made in Italy labels. Al Jazeera's Sonia Gallego reports from Prato in Tuscany.
