TrueValueMetrics (TVM) is an emerging analytical framework based on well established accountancy concepts that connects organizations and their economic activity with the associated impact on People, Place and Planet ... and in this context the Community. The goal is to provide a way to account for and report on the State of the Community, the Progress of the Community.

State is the equivalent of a business 'balance sheet' but more comprehensive, including everything that has an impact on quality of life, the environment and the resources of the planet, now and into the future.

Progress is measured by reference to the Change in State over time. Many things stay the same ... some improve, some deteriorate.

Performance is measured by comparing progress with the resources consumed to achieve progress. TVM has a focus on the areas which are a priority for the community, where State is compromised or Progress inadequate.
