He said that you make Daily Kos happen and he’s right, so I wanted to show you exactly what you made happen this year: Site traffic has shot up an incredible 56.4 percent over the past year (from 5.8 million unique visitors per month this time last year to 9 million), making the Daily Kos the 293rd largest site on the internet The email list grew 70 percent, from 1.02 million subscribers last December to 1.7 million today Our Facebook page more than tripled, from 210,000 fans last year to 652,000 today We expanded our activism team to help recruit thousands of volunteers and make an incredible 1.5 million get out the vote phone calls in the just six weeks We got over 365,000 people to take over 1,000,000 actions to save both Daily Kos and the internet from Big Telecom, and are on the brink of a remarkable victory The Daily Kos Election Outlook was named the most accurate election forecast in the country by the Washington Post We’ve hired amazing new writers and editors -- Shaun King, whose writings on police overreach and racism have never been more timely, Jeff Singer, Kerry Eleveld, and Walter Einenkel We hired a Director of Community Building to help Daily Kos members come together in real life in their communities, part of a long-term effort to build grassroots power and elect progressives from the bottom up We expanded our tech team to keep things running smoothly through them most-trafficked year in our history, launch a host of new mobile web features, and prepare a new version of the site ready to launch next year.
