As US elections loom, join economist Trevor Williams and former British Ambassador to the US Sir Christopher Meyer for perspectives on the country past, present and future.

As we approach the US election, now is an interesting time to reflect on the past 4 years of Trump and look to what the future may bring. Two leading experts in their fields will share views on the state of the USA – its economy, society, politics and the looming election.

Economist and lecturer Trevor Williams will focus on the US economy, exploring the impact of COVID-19 and the prospects for recovery. Sir Christopher Meyer, with his extensive experience of US politics, including as British Ambassador to the US during the contested election of 2000 between Bush and Gore, will offer insight and reflection on the US election of 2020.
