US PASSENGER RAIL What is Amtrak's LEAST popular train? You don't have to ride all of the Amtrak trains to find out... Original article: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OjcInb-hpA Peter Burgess COMMENTARY I have always enjoyed train travel, and it depresses me that US passenger trains have been in decline for all my adult lifetime. When I was growing up in the UK in the 1950s I followed American steam technology as closely as I followed British steam. In the winter of 1967 I crossed Canada from Montreal to Vancouver by train (Canadian National) which was memorable in so many ways ... so much more interesting than travelling overland by air. I have travelled from New York to Montreal by car and bus many times over the years. Generally speaking, there are usually better views from trains especially along great rivers. Peter Burgess | ||
