Russia's air force in Ukraine is a total failure Original article: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oMdYloIfK8 Peter Burgess COMMENTARY I don't feel at all comfortable with this headline ... it sounds too much like what I want to hear rather than the reality. True ... the Russian air force has suffered some losses, but still has enough fire-power to make everything a challenge for the Ukrainian forces. I am having trouble processing the various information flows about the Ukraine War that are easy to access via international social media. Buried in these flows is 'state sponsored' misinformation from Russia, but also from Ukraine and others. Many of the images are undated and unrelated to the story. Many of the commentators about the war have opinions, some of which do not seem particularly credible. I think it is fair to say, however, that the Ukraine military has proved to be way better than expected in almost every way and the Russian military way worse than expected in almost every way. Compared to Russia, Ukraine has limited military equipment and supplies ... but actually more than many would have expected. I am hopeful that information about the flow of material to Ukraine is incomplete for obvious reasons. The biggest risk, in my opinion, for Ukraine is that key players in the West lose interest in the War in Ukraine ... especially the United States that is going to become involved with a mid-term election this year and a Presidential election in two years time. The American media is already showing signs of boredom with the Ukraine War ... and the American public has little tolerance for anything but instant gratification. The American media is a very weak link in the support network for Ukraine. Peter Burgess | ||
