THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY
MANY DEEP PROBLEMS Joe Blogs: RUSSIAN Report Forecasts ECONOMIC COLLAPSE - Deep & Prolonged RECESSION for RUSSIA as SANCTIONS Bite Original article: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sL3EysuSniQ Peter Burgess COMMENTARY This discussion is along the lines of what I 'want to hear', and seems to be along the lines of what I have been expecting to hear because of all the steps that have been taken to get to this point. My hope is that one of the lessons that world leaders will learn from Putin's Russian aggression in Ukraine is that war is very expensive especially when you lose a war that you start. I agree with those leaders that are saying that it is vital that Putin loses this war so that aggression does not become a new normal for angry national leaders around the world. Years ago I was in Africa when the UK under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher pushed back against the Argentinian military attack on the Falklands (Maldives) thinking that they could take it over from the British because they had the military power. The British objected because under established international law, it was a British possession, albeit near Argentina. As a 'Brit' I was expecting my African colleagues to give me a hard time over Thatcher's strong response to repell the Agentinian attack, but in fact they were in support of the hard response because as they explained to me, many of their countries were next to big armies in neighboring countries and they did not want to see a world where a big army was more important than the international rule of law. This video describes how badly the Russian economy is probably impacted by Putin's aggression and the strong response there has been from NATO and Western allies. Peter Burgess | ||
