METAVERSE
DIGITAL FOUNDATION Conversation Joe Tsai, Adrian Cheng, and Yat Siu ... 2030 is a major milestone for many global agendas, what will the metaverse look like by then? Original article: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noTy91bVep8 Peter Burgess COMMENTARY This discussion raises a huge number of interesting questions that simply don't fit with the 'thinking' that is learned in the process of most conventional education. But something important is clearly going on and whatever this is, the understanding of it is neither deep nor widespread. In the discussion it was mentioned that young people are spending much of their waking time engaged with some form of digital interactopm ... way more than older people like myself who are almost completely missing. One of the thoughts that came to me as I was watching the video was that much of the common and almost universal concept of money is about as 'flakey' as the concept of the 'metaverse' that is being talked about. When viewed in this light, the ideas that are foundational for the 'metaverse' become quite reasonable. It is almost possible to think of the core of metaverse accounting to be a money for the 22nd century! For someone with my educational and experiential background, the idea that the emerging 'metaverse' is a essentailly a logical improvement to the basic accounting ledger that has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years, a ledger that does not easily get erased in order to hide misfeasance of any type. I don't have a full understanding of the 'metaverse' as described in this discussion ... but I am a lot closer now than before I watched the discussion. Peter Burgess | ||
