NEW EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT WING DESIGN NASA's New Airliner Experiment To Make Flying Less Expensive Original article: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm5LYkGHkTc Peter Burgess COMMENTARY There is a lot about the state of the modern world that I do not like, but the progress that I have witnessed during my lifetime is not part of this. I did an 'engineering' degree at Cambridge in the late 1950s and learned a lot about the technology of the day ... which was amazing relative to the technology of a decade before and even more amazing relative to the technology of a century before. In the almost seventy years pf my adult lifetime, the progress of 'technology' has continued ... and I remain impressed. Sadly, this has not been matched by anything like the same progress in a whole range of essential aspects of society. One can start off with politics and the management of things at the 'top' level. Many countries including the USA and the UK have been experiencing political dysfunction that has been degrading quality of life for most people in these countries. Why is it that technological productivity has not translated into substantially better quality of life? There are reasons for this, but they are not talked about for some reason ... and this reason needs to be addressed. I have strong views on how the global socio-enviro-economic system works based on my early formal education in engineering, economics and management accountancy and many decades on experiential learning in more than 50 countries. In the main, it is rich people with massive power and influence who are running the place, and they seem to do all they can for their personal agenda, and not very much for the vast majority of us. This is not sustainable ... something was better is possible. This video about technoloigy is very encouraging !!!!!!!!! Peter Burgess | ||
NASA's New Airliner Experiment To Make Flying Less Expensive

This may be a blueprint for a future airliner, fuel cost is one of the major considerations to aircraft operators and technologies which provide even small improvements can pay off handsome rewards over the lifetime of the aircraft. Or maybe the technology developed will end up being used in some completely different form....
