Why does this happen?
The socio-enviro-economic system has been gamed by the rich and powerful ... mostly without much understanding of the underlying systemic behaviors.
A year leter, that is July 2021, the increase in wealth by the ultra wealthy has become even more obscene. The financialization of the modern economy is working well for owners, but not at all well for everyone else.
There is something fundamentally wrong when the stock market in New York is at record levels while as many as half the US population is behind on their rent, utility bills, etc., and has difficulty paying to put food on the table.
