Dr Yunus explains how a Social Stock Exchange can be created to invest in a better world, as opposed to individual financial portfolios.

COMMENTARY
Dr. Muhammad Yunus talked about a Social Stock Exchange in his book 'Creating a World Without Poverty' (Chapter 8) and the need for a better system of metrics ... the section is 'New yardsticks for evaluating business'and he also makes reference to the work of the UN with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

The good news is that there are many initiatives to improve and expand corporate reporting to included more than just profit ... the bad news is that none of them are working very well because the only companies reporting are ones that are happy with transparency while the companies that are behaving in an irresposible manner do not engage with the new reporting, or do it in a self-serving manner. These systems are not easy for millions of small organizations to follow ... and these entities are ignored and marginalized.
