Occupy WallStreet getting ready to celebrate one year since its first major confrontation in New York City

Burgess COMMENTARY
Freedom is the exceptional element in the US society and economy, and 'freedom' belongs to the 100% and not to just the rich and powerful 1%. New York City is going down a dangerous slippery slope

Tell Mayor Bloomberg to Respect Occupy’s Right to Peaceably Assemble Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a global leader of the 1%, has unleashed his ‘private army’ to pepper spray, beat, arrest, imprison and evict Occupy Wall Street. As we prepare for our one year anniversary on September 17th, what will his response be this time? Tell the Mayor of Wall Street to put away his violent white shirts, helicopters, guns, chemical agents, jail cells and undercover spying operations. Occupy is a nonviolent movement. And if he hears all of our voices together and sees our collective power in the streets, we might just make it out of #S17 in one piece.

Thank you for standing with Occupy Wall Street and helping protect our right to peaceably assemble! Moreover, we invite you to join us in the streets to help celebrate our #S17 anniversary weekend on September 15 - 17. You can go to www.s17nyc.org for more details. And in the meantime, please share this with your networks, so that we can amplify our collective voices to ensure that we will be heard!
