Subject: Malaria ... The Admiral and PMI

Dear Dr. Bob

I almost took a day trip to Washington this past Monday because the Washington folk were spending money on presenting their international health performance to the people that fund their activities. Admiral Ziemer was going to be one of the panelists.

I had second thoughts ... it would have been a really tough day starting at about 3 am and ending about 23 hours later!

But I still get pretty upset about the amount of money that gets disbursed and how little seems to deliver meaningful sustainable benefits.

You may not know this, but I burnt my house in the Poconos down in February last year, and have been doing a complete rebuild. It is just completed and I moved back in about a month ago. I took the opportunity to make it energy efficient ... passive solar and an enormous amount of insulation and air handling machinery. Seems to work quite well.

I lost a year of working on issues and am now slowly getting back on track. The active website for my efforts are at http://truevaluemetrics.org I would expect you to be pretty upset at some of my positions and fully agreement with some others. That should come as no surprise.

How are things with you and your family. It seems like a hundred years since you were in Birmingham and before that in Illinois. Time flies when you are having fund.
