I became aware of Professor Harvey's interest in Marxism and Capitalism more than 20 years ago when I was trying to think through the many issues that were anabling a lot of bad practices relative to socio-enviro-economic progress and performance.
In broad general terms I am disappointed that the academic community has not been able to articulate anything that changes the headlong rush to replicate the problems of the past faster and bigger than ever before.
While I understand the value of knowing something of history, I value even more a good understanding of what is happening in the here and now ... and the direction of all the moving parts in our modern large and complex socio-enviro-economic system ... and all the 'cause and effects' that are in play all the time.
