Independent Consultant Global Energy Initiative March 2013 – Present (4 months)Greater New York City Area GEI is a newly established non-profit organization that seeks to promote sustainable energy to fight energy poverty through education, promoting research on energy technologies, and organizing pubic discussion forums. I have been working to help establish the organization by contributing original content for its publications, consulting on the design and content of the website, and providing fresh ideas for GEI’s first conference, to be held this November in New York. Blogger Thinking Energy March 2013 – Present (4 months) I am the creator of Thinking Energy, a blog that focuses on sustainable energy and presents thoughts and insights to the ongoing energy debate, with the goal of encouraging the public to engage in the wider sustainability conversation, especially those that do not come from an energy or scientific background. Pieces from Thinking Energy have been featured on The Energy Collective and Energy Central. Program Coordinator/Coordinating Editor World Energy Forum February 2012 – February 2013 (1 year 1 month)New York, NY I was Coordinating Editor of the World Energy Monitor, a newsletter that presents the latest issues in the energy sector. I was responsible for managing the content in each issue, as well as scoping for and obtaining high quality articles from experts in the field. I was also involved in coordinating the program and logistics for World Energy Forum, as well as outreach to universities and student groups worldwide. (Open)1 project Intern - Researcher Energy Vision February 2012 – August 2012 (7 months)Greater New York City Area I did research on alternative fuels for vehicles– including natural gas, plug-in hybrids, and hydrogen vehicles. I also authored “A Greener Transportation Future for the Empire State?” –a report on the progress of alternative fuel vehicles in New York State, which isnow used as educational material for a number of Clean Cities Coalitions in New York State. Intern KPMG August 2009 – September 2009 (2 months)Hong Kong I assisted in updating financial statements and the final analytical review for an engagement, ensuring financial statements are mathematically correct as well as correlating references with precision and accuracy. I also organized a filing system for all work done for the engagement for the past 3 years.
