The final framework, released after three months consultation period, would help the reporters to report on financial, manufactured, intellectual, human, social and relationship, and natural capitals that an organisation uses and affects. According to its supporters, the main advantage of using this framework over the other available sustainability reporting frameworks is that it would help in developing an integrated thinking among the reporting organisations. Thank you for posting this link. I am pleasantly surprised overall at this reporting framework. The image (Figure 2 on page 13) depicting the value creation process is the nearest yet to the way we map state, progress and performance in the Multi Dimension Impact Accounting (MDIA) framework that is being developed by TrueValueMetrics. There is also a useful depiction and discussion of the reporting boundary (Figure 3 on page 20), another element that is incorporated in MDIA.

Perhaps the biggest difference between the initiative of IIRC, together with most of the other sustainability / CSR / green / etc reporting initiatives is that they all have the organization as the center of everything, when in fact society needs to be at the center and organizations an important element of the infrastructure that makes society work.

The MDIA framework is multi dimensional meaning that the data may be looked at from different perspectives and in different dimensions ... and in the end enable major organizations and capital markets to get out of their fixation with short-term gain at the expense of long term sustainable value.

I will be mapping all the elements of this new IIRC framework to the emerging MDIA framework ... because as I said in the beginning, there are many elements that are now compatible. This is progress.
