Experience Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the Board of Directors World Report News May 2014 – Present (3 months)Washington, D.C. World Report News (Beginning operations in 2015) is a proactive world news agency dedicated to the prevention and resolution of violence around the globe. WRN will operate under the leadership of five board members, three c-level staff, and another three senior staff members. Full-time staff writers will only be funded contingent upon further grants. This is a small operation committed exclusively to publishing news and information on war, its causes, its consequences, and its resolution, with the aim of protecting human lives and securing positive peace. Please connect for more information, if you would like to become involved, or if you are interested in investing in peace media, My duties: + Assembling Board of Directors, C-level staff, senior management, key personnel, and writer-editors for the launch of World Report News in 2015 (501(c)3 media) + Establishing organizational partnerships and alliances in preparation for the launch + Appealing to foundations and philanthropists for investment (World Report News, or WRN, will be a nonprofit proactive hard world news agency dedicated to the prevention and resolution of conflict through quality international journalism. It breaks away from the previous WRN in very significant ways, including: - A new BoD, with very senior directors who bring many decades of experience in war and peace journalism, diplomacy, and communications technology; - A new mandate geared specifically toward the causes, progression, consequences, and aftermath of war and other forms of violence; - A new journalism model that helps individuals and organizations who work in peace affairs build a reputation and an audience, with the hopes that this model can encourage peace education; - A professional, rather than a student-led staff. Most employees and volunteers are seniors in their fields.) Founder and Director World Report: The Student Journal for International Affairs May 2011 – June 2012 (1 year 2 months) + World Report: The Student Journal for International Affairs (commonly known as World Report News) officially launched in June 2011 at Ohio University. Since then the organization has involved institutions and writers from across the United States and in ten different countries and has established readership in more than seventy countries. Composed entirely of volunteer networks and an experienced volunteer Board, WRN was able to establish print shops on every continent and had more than 20,000 daily subscriptions. In the summer of 2012 the Board disintegrated, with the CFO and CSO taking higher-paid positions in Beijing and Tokyo and me, the CEO, selecting GWU's graduate media program in DC. I retain all the rights and management to WRN. In the summer of 2014 I put together a new Board of Directors and a team of expert staff who will help me restart the organization as a hard world news agency dedicated to proactive and prevention-oriented coverage of war and violence around the world. Recommend Matthew Naysa Ahuja Naysa Ahuja Director Strategic Partnerships & Outreach Naysa networked with relentless energy at the World Bank, the United Nations, UNF, and various other organizations, where she has successfully connected me with writers, editors, senior management, C-level staff, and even board members. I cannot measure the contributions to my organization that she has made. I absolutely recommend Naysa Ahuja for any position that utilizes professional networking, staff recruitment, and/or business, partner, and affiliate development. I also saw her presentation at the United Nations in May, 2014, and she was the strongest speaker on the panel. I recommend her for public speaking without any reservations. Naysa is an innovative thinker and contributed to the brainstorming sessions on the resource-based conflicts initiative that will be an important part of WRN's operations in 2015.
