Hello Everyone,

We invite you to join us for six days in New York for The Cloud Institute's Annual EfS Summer Design Studio. This week-long intensive has been developed for educators, faculty, curriculum supervisors, administrators, and community leaders who want to learn how to design and embed Education for Sustainability (EfS) into their curriculum, assessments, organizational learning strategies and programs. We will be meeting in New York July 27th through August 1st. Learn more here: www.cloudinstitute.org/summer-design-studio

If you are not yet ready for the full 6 days, our 1-day Introduction to Education for Sustainability (EfS) would be just perfect for you. This workshop combines systems thinking, sustainable economics, and the science of sustainability to inspire participation in the shift toward a sustainable future - we hope you can join us! New Jersey educators can earn 7 professional development credit hours for this interactive seminar. This workshop is offered in NYC on July 27th. Learn more here: www.cloudinstitute.org/introtoefs

Also happening this month, The Cloud Institute will be represented at Camp Snowball in Portland, OR -- July 14th through July 18th. Co-hosted by Peter Senge, author of The Fifth Discipline: The Art and Practice of the Learning Organization - and a team of students, educators, community leaders and business partners, this event will bring us all together to revisit what student success really means. A growing number of school systems have found that by integrating best practices in instructional strategy with the tools and techniques of systems thinking, organizational learning, and education for sustainability, they can accelerate students’ ability to live, learn, and thrive in a fast-paced, technology-driven world. Learn more here: www.campsnowball.org

Education for Sustainability (EfS) is defined as a transformative learning process that equips students, teachers, and school systems with the new knowledge and ways of thinking we need to achieve economic prosperity and responsible citizenship while restoring the health of the living systems upon which our lives depend. Our mission is to ensure the viability of sustainable communities by leveraging changes in K-12 school systems to prepare young people for the shift toward a sustainable future.

All the best,

Jaimie and The Cloud Institute Team
