Accordingly I won't say anything about John Duong's talk. He seems a very nice guy, but surely it is about time we got beyond discussing in very soft terms about the definitions of impact and got round to measuring impact in ALL its dimensions. I keep pinching myself because I really cannot believe how poor improvement in global enviro-socio-economic performance is relative to the growth in our global knowledge and technology. I use the example of a computer installation I was involved with in 1967 where the memory was 4K and now my phone has 4G ... just a million times more powerful. Why is society going down when the technology and knowledge we have has gone up so much. Its all about systemic dysfunction and structural malfunction ... and in my view its time we got serious about fixing it. Delete 1 second ago
