Calum Webster: Great to see such a range of projects from Accor. Marilyn Graham 2: Ursula, Where in NC? Im near Wilmington. Sean Spiller: Hello! I'm here in Asheville,NC. Ursula Vogt: Hello Marilyn and Sean...just outside of Charlotte Elizabeth Armstrong, Ph.D.: Do you think people in the work environment may have great innovative strategies to lower footprint? Emily McGill: Elizabeth - definitely, I`ve seen that proven at multiple organizations. Put waste reduction planning in the hands of the actual office or factory workers, encourage departments to compete with each other, and get great results. WR Beer: Define the population included in human health - e.g., employees only? Meaghan Krohn: @Emily McGill: Id be interested in speaking to you about where you've seen that and how it was implemented! Lisa: I put this int he question box, but also curious what people think: Are most of the examples of companies gaining value large, public reporters, or do we have examples of small companies, too...what's different about these, key things that come to mind requiring consideration? Meaghan Krohn: What is your email? or: meaghan.krohn@cdp.net Emily McGill: I`ll contact you now Meaghan : ) Joyce Dickerson: I submitted this question, but thought I'd share here, too: We use our environmental data to optimize our operations - I wonder why this was not one of their options? Elizabeth Armstrong, Ph.D.: Thank you Mondelez for setting a platform for others to follow. Georgina Stickels: Lisa, the biggest barrier for smaller companies is often the perceived/actual resources and knowledge required to actually put this kind of system in place. Some large companies have 'small supplier' upskilling/capacity building programmes that can help their smaller suppliers get on board (providing sustainability and diversity benefits for the large company in their own sustainability reporting/performance) Georgina Stickels: However there are also big benefits for larger orgs that may or may not be reporting publicly, such as public sector orgs (universities, hospitals or other 'services' orgs, such as prisons) Alan Robinson: If you want your question considered by the presenters, then type it into the Q&A on left of screen. Lisa: Hi Alan. Thanks. As I indicated when I typed it, I have left my question there but was curious what other attendees thought as well. Lisa: Thatnks for your thoughtful response, Georgina! Georgina Stickels: Ooh, and depending where you are, there are also gov't programmes for SMEs: Acorn in the UK, and maybe something through US EPA ? Lisa: hm I'm in Canada. not aware of anything too active here. there are some financial ones, but mostly for technological devlopment. i'll take a look around! Emily McGill: Lisa - the NSERC Engage grant allows industry to partner with universities for up to $25 000 to answer a pressing question to their business. The micro-business I work for used this to hugely augment our sustainability reporting. Emily McGill: One example for Canada at least :) Lisa: cool. would you be interested in providing me a bit more information about your experience with that? you can email me: lisa@andthensum.ca :) Lisa: thank-you! Kevin McCarty: How long does it take to build a strong data management system that is robust enough to generate significant analysis and impacts? What human resources are needed to build out a strong data management system? Ram: Do you do any work in ethics and integrity metrics Georgina Stickels: Emily - what a great initiative! Emily McGill: Thanks! Now just have to communicate it to the customer & community ;) John Cusack: How do you measure sustainability reputation risks that might affect your firm's brand values and bottom line? Do you use the RepRisk Reputation risk ratings system which rates 50,000+ firms around the globe? We find it useful for supply chain ESG rsk analysis... Elizabeth Armstrong, Ph.D.: Thank you, I have definitely gained great insight on what is going on and what is possible. You have been a great help. Jon A. Weiss: Cheers! Mike Schwartz: Thanks!
