When I last looked accounting was still about money and profit and the social (people) and environment (planet) were still externalities outside the reporting envelope of the business entity and therefore ignored. Yes, there is more talk about people and planet, but rather little numbering. In my view, the TBL will continue to be a talking point until e figure out how to do numbers for our complex socio-enviro-economic system that is both easy and complete. We will have succeeded when we can change the title of the CFO ... Chief Financial Officer to CPO ...
