Nelamara Arbex

Dr Nelmara Arbex is an expert in the field of business and sustainability with over 15 years of experience. Currently, she is the Chief Advisor on Innovation in Reporting at GRI and works as a consultant.

Nelmara is a physicist. She started in business as a consultant on strategy and innovation at McKinsey & Co in 1999.  She built her expertise in this field working for companies and not-for-profit organizations such as Instituto Ethos and Natura, in Brazil, and the GRI. In 2006, she created the “Learning and Services” are at GRI. Later, as Deputy Chief Executive, she led the global multi-stakeholder consultation process involving thousands of people around the world to create GRI G4. G4 was launched in 2013 and the development process is considered the largest consultation of its kind ever implemented. In this period she was also part of the IIRC Working Group, which developed the IIRC Framework.

Nelmara is member of various organizations’ councils, including the Advisory Board at SIM –Responsible Supply Chains – Netherlands; the Sustainability Council at AMATA – Brazil; the Advisory Council at RAPS – Political Action Network for Sustainability – Brazil; and the McKinsey Executive Panel.

Nelmara holds a PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Marburg – Germany and a postgraduate degree in Sustainability and Business from the University of Cambridge – UK. Nelmara is Brazilian and lives in Amsterdam.

 
   




Brent Bergeron

Mr. Bergeron was appointed Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability in January 2015. Mr. Bergeron joined Goldcorp in November 2010, and has held the roles of Vice President, Corporate Affairs and from September 2012, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs. Prior to joining the company, he served as a senior executive at several international companies and has extensive experience in the areas of government and public relations, corporate affairs, operations and communications.

Mr. Bergeron is responsible for Goldcorp's external relationships with governments and other relevant stakeholders, communications and corporate social responsibility. Mr. Bergeron holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hon.) in Economics and a Masters of Arts (Economics) degree from Carleton University in Ottawa. He also serves as a member of the Executive Steering Committee for the Responsible Gold Standard Initiative at the World Gold Council and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Canadian Council of the Americas, the Mining Association of Canada, the Quebec Mining Association and MinAlliance.

Paul Boykas

Paul is a 25 year veteran of PepsiCo, working for several of their divisions, including Pepsi-Cola North America in Purchase and Somers, New York, Frito Lay in Plano, Texas and the QTG (Quaker-Tropicana-Gatorade) division in Chicago.  Currently Paul is based in Washington, DC.

As PepsiCo Vice President of Global Policy, Paul leads PepsiCo’s cross-divisional, cross-functional Public Policy Coordinating Group.  In this role Paul coordinates globally to assure consistency among PepsiCo’s divisions on public policy issues, ranging from environmental commitments to portfolio transformation.  Paul is the lead contact to external stakeholders who interact with the company on issues.

Working closely with PepsiCo’s sustainability initiatives, Paul leads reporting efforts to Socially Responsible Investors, the Global Reporting Initiative and the Carbon Disclosure Project. 

Paul serves on the steering committees of the International Council of Beverage Associations, the International Food and Beverage Alliance and on the Boards of the US Network of the UN Global Compact and the Global Reporting Initiative.

Prior to his work with PepsiCo, Paul served in Washington, DC as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman Toby Roth of Green Bay, Wisconsin and as Vice President of Communications at the Newark (NJ) Chamber of Commerce.

Paul holds a BA in Government and History from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and a Masters in Public Administration from New York University.

Rob is Executive Director at SustainAbility in London, and has over 20 years’ experience working with the sustainability agenda in business. Rob joined SustainAbility in April 2012 and is actively involved with a range of clients working regularly with business leaders and board members across sectors including finance and banking, FMCG, retail and energy.

He leads a variety of stakeholder engagement assignments that bring together leaders from business and civil society including Nestlé’s international CSV convenings and Barclays stakeholder dialogues. Rob was previously Chief Executive of Fairtrade International, the global umbrella organization for the Fairtrade movement and prior to that was owner and executive chairman of Flag, an international sustainability reporting company.  He was elected a fellow of the RSA in 1998 and in 2007 was appointed as a UK Prince of Wales Ambassador for Corporate Responsibility. He lives in Cambridge UK and, when not at home, can be found either out on his road bike or in a scull on the river Cam.

Stefan Crets is Executive Director of CSR Europe, the European platform for companies and stakeholders to exchange and cooperate to become European leaders in sustainable competitiveness and societal wellbeing. 
 
From 2002 onwards, Stefan worked as the CSR leader at Toyota Europe where he developed and implemented a new strategy which informed Toyota's worldwide approach.  In 2008, Stefan was appointed General Manager for Corporate Planning and CSR, Toyota Europe. Prior to his experiences at Toyota, he was Programme Advisor at the King Baudouin Foundation, and started his professional career as a research academic at the University of Antwerp.

Gargi Dhongde

Gargi has 6 years of experience in the field of Sustainability & Climate Change. She has expertise in providing advisory and assurance services on sustainability report based on GRI G3 & G3.1 and G4 guidelines based on the AA1000AS and ISAE 3000 standards. While working with Mahindra and Mahindra ,she was involved in development of sustainability report for the Mahindra group and standalone reports for Mahindra Lifespaces and Tech Mahindra.

She has gained experience in working with a diverse range of business and sectors: Automotive, Banking, Oil and Gas Industries, Metal and Mining, Power, Information Technology, stock exchange and Cement Industries.

She has conducted Workshops on sustainability reporting based on GRI G3 and 3.1 and G4 guidelines for several companies. She has also conducted workshops on materiality assessment and assisted companies to identify their top material issues as per the latest GRI G4 guidelines • She has been part of CDP and DJSI disclosures for leading Indian Corporates.

Gargi has been part of the unique engagement of True Value for a cement industry which was a first of its kind in India. The first of its kind project in India which brought 15 SMEs together to publish their sustainability reports based on the GRI G4 Guidelines in collaboration with Global reporting initiative. The project was funded by SIDA.

She is involved in a various though leaderships of KPMG which are based on the Corporate Responsibility Reporting and evaluated the performance of the Global 250 companies top 100 companies in India on various sustainability parameters.

   
   




Jitendra B. Divgi

Jitendra (Jiten) Divgi was born in 1962 and hails from Pune. His early education was at the Bishop’s School and Fergusson College, Pune. Jiten completed his Mechanical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani in 1984 and his Masters in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, USA.

Jiten spent the formative years of his career around the technology hotspots of Massachusetts in the USA until 1990 when he returned to India to join the 25-year old family manufacturing business started by his father Bhaskar Divgi. With the vision to take the family automotive component business to the next level, in 1995, Jiten forged a joint venture with BorgWarner Inc, a USA based company pioneering in automotive powertrain systems and products.

From the word “go”, Jiten led DivgiWarner to its and the country’s first electronically controlled transmission system with Tata Motors on the TATA Safari four-wheel drive vehicle and become India’s first company to export automotive gearbox assemblies to China and Southeast Asia.

Jiten’s keen focus on quality and social issues saw DivgiWarner obtain the world’s class-leading quality, environmental, and safety standards and certifications. In 2009, DivgiWarner won the BorgWarner Chairman’s Global Product Innovation Award across BorgWarner’s Drivetrain Group for the implementation of the BorgWarner Production System. Last year, DivgiWarner won the CII National Quality Award. Today, DivgiWarner is recognized as a valued solutions provider to automotive companies in India and around the world with exports to Korea, China, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the USA.

In his spare time, Jiten reads extensively on subjects from history to philosophy to poetry and music. He plays the tablaa and is an avid follower of Indian Classical Music and Percussion.

She participated in the worktable Social Responsibility Committee of ASOCOLFLORES and sectoral table floriculture, because she consider this a very important interdisciplinary space where they can participate to promote the development of improvement projects for her company and industry.

Yuly feels very proud to contribute to important projects such as the sustainability report developed through ASOCOLFLORES because it represents a very important step in our sector.

 
   










Philipp Hirche

Philipp is the founder and chairman of WikiRate Project e.V., a non-profit based in Berlin primarily funded through CAPS grants of the European Commission. Its website wikirate.org allows anyone to create and populate metrics on companies, and then to combine any number of scored metrics to create company sustainability ratings. Wikirate.org is currently in beta and is running test case studies with multiple universities and NGOs.

Philipp is also a Director at Augusta, a financial advisory boutique based in London with the focus on renewable energy. Prior to Augusta, he was a Vice President within principal investments at JPMorgan, including 5 years in JPMorgan’s tax equity business in Chicago participating in numerous wind, solar and geothermal transactions representing over $5bn of investments.

Philipp has a Diplom Ingenieur from the Technical University of Berlin, a Diplom Kaufmann, Diplôme de Grande Ecole and a MSc from ESCP Europe, and became a CFA in 2009.  He is married and enjoys a lively family life in Wimbledon, London with three kids.

Rashila has worked in the field of sustainability for more than 20 years across several industries.  Currently she is a sustainability analyst at RobecoSAM covering the materials sectors.  This includes aluminum, steel, construction materials, paper & forest products, containers & packaging, and chemicals.  Prior to joining RobecoSAM, Rashila worked at Holcim in the sustainable development function, as an SD project manager, where she developed the company’s social and environmental profit and loss methodology and its group-wide biodiversity strategy.  In addition to her extensive experience managing sustainability issues in the construction materials sector, she has also worked on environmental management programmes in the automobile sector and water management in the public sector.

Rashila holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan, USA.

   
 

Adriana Lagrotta Leles

Adriana Lagrotta Leles is Brazilian and has been working as an Adviser for the CEO of SANASA, a water supply and sanitation company, located in Campinas, São Paulo State. Her position is to support the CEO to take decisions involving sustainability issues. Adriana is responsible for introducing and developing the Sustainability Reporting into the company and driving the strategic discussions based on the GRI tool. She is specialized in sustainability reporting for public companies and governments. She has been a member of Stakeholder Council of GRI. Since last year, Adriana has been involved in a special Brazilian working group at the United Nations Global Compact concerning the Sustainable Development Goal 6 Clean Water and Sanitation through the Movement to Reduce Waste Water in Distribution.

   
   




Cornis van der Lugt

Dr. Cornelis T. van der Lugt is Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Corporate Governance at Stellenbosch University Business School, Cape Town, South Africa, and Senior Associate at BSD Consulting, Zurich, Switzerland. He has over 20 years of experience working at international level in the field of sustainability standards. As former representative of the UN Environment Programme and UN Global Compact he was deeply involved in developing industry initiatives and guidance standards such as the GRI and ISO 26000. He served on the GRI’s Boundaries (2004), Reporting as Process (2005) and Materiality (2009) expert working groups. His work included developing guidance for managers and benchmarking reports on good practices with partners such as SustainAbility, Standard & Poors, KPMG, World Resources Institute and AccountAbility. He was one of the contributing authors to the “TEEB for Business Report” (Earthscan 2011), “Green Economy Report” (UNEP 2011) and co-edited the report “Making Investment Grade: The Future of Corporate Reporting” (Deloitte et. al. 2012). In 2006 he co-founded the Carrots & Sticks series of reports by UNEP, KPMG, CCGA and GRI on mandatory and voluntary instruments for corporate sustainability disclosures in OECD and emerging markets. In 2015 he co-founded the online platform www.materialitytracker.net.  He continues to contribute to international research publications, consults from Switzerland in the area of strategy and sustainable finance, and provides executive education on among others integrated reporting. He holds a PhD from Stellenbosch University and Masters in Business Administration from the Haute Ecole de Commerce (HEC, Paris).

Additionally, he is founder partner of the KOL SAC group, composed of 10 companies engaged in the areas of transport, distribution of finished products, vehicle maintenance, development of canine food, importation and sale of tires and lubricants.

James Margolis

Mr. Margolis is a Partner with ERM and one of its senior environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHS&S) management consulting practitioners. He is a recognized expert in EHS&S governance and management systems. He currently leads ERM’s global sustainability reporting practice.

Jimmy has assisted numerous companies develop and implement EHS&S strategies. He has assisted clients develop GRI sustainability reports, become listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, conduct product lifecycle assessments, implement sustainability-related information technology solutions, develop more sustainable supply chains, define corporate metrics and internal management reporting processes, and develop and roll out corporate policies and standards.

Jimmy has also led comprehensive enterprise-wide reviews of EHS&S management effectiveness for dozens of organizations. He has helped many companies develop and implement improved corporate governance programs and plant-level EHS&S management systems contributing to significant reductions in environmental impacts, safety incidents, and costs. During the course of his career, he has visited hundreds of industrial sites and developed and led dozens of EHS&S management training courses, seminars and workshops.

Prior to joining ERM, Mr. Margolis spent eleven years with Arthur D. Little and six years with Deloitte. He started his career as an engineer at an oil refinery and petrochemical plant.

   
   


Marcela Romero Merino
Managing Director

Marcela is managing director of BSD Consulting in Colombia. Her work at BSD benefits greatly from her broad sustainability management experience.

Throughout her career, and indeed with BSD, Marcela has worked on: the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of sustainability strategies; supply chain management with special focus on risk management and SME strengthening; working with indigenous and rural communities on stakeholder dialogues and the strengthening of income generation projects and their articulation with markets (fair trade, organics); and the development of public-private partnerships.  She has worked with clients from sectors including agricultural and food services, retail, real estate and construction, mining and oil and gas.

Prior to joining BSD, Marcela was sustainable development manager for a big global retailer in Colombia, where she was charged with the planning, implementation, and assessment of the retailer’s sustainability strategy in the country. Earlier in her career, Marcela held roles at Universidad Externado de Colombia as researcher and lecturer for undergraduate programs in sustainable local development, and at the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Colombia as a consultant employed to strengthen local authorities’ capacities in sustainable urban planning.

Marcela is a qualified trainer for UN Global Compact training cycles and the GRI Certified Training Program.  In addition, Marcela collaborated on the design of the master degree in Corporate Social Responsibility of Externado de Colombia University, where she is currently lecturer for the courses on Business Case Analysis and Sustainability Impact, Risk and Opportunities Analysis. 

 
   


Anna Nafedova

Anna is a member of Deloitte’s Global Sustainability services group. She has more than ten years of combined audit and consulting experience. Anna is a Certified Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Trainer leading G4 training program in the US.

Jeanne Ng

Dr. Ng is responsible for CLP Group's sustainability matters, including sustainability-related strategy, reporting and communications. She joined CLP upon the establishment of the Group Environmental Affairs department in 2003 and was previously Director - Group Environmental Affair s responsible for the development and roll-out of corporate environmental policy and strategy across the CLP Group.

Dr. Ng holds a BSc in Toxicology from the University of Toronto and a PhD in Environmental Management from the University of Hong Kong. She has extensive experience in the environmental industry and has held senior roles in international environmental / engineering consulting companies prior to joining CLP. She was involved in most of the early Hong Kong governmental air pollution and climate strategy and policy studies and is regarded as one of Hong Kong's experts in air and greenhouse gas emissions inventories.

Dr. Ng is currently a member of a number of organisations including the Hong Kong Climate Change Forum, the Board of Directors for Sustainability at Arizona State University and GRI Stakeholder Council Member. She was previously a member of the Advisory Council of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), the Working Group of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), as well as a Board member of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) and the Air & Waste Management Association (AWMA). 

 
   




Erik Nooteboom

Erik Nooteboom is Acting Director "Directorate B - Investment and company reporting" in the DG for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Market Union within the European Commission.

Previously he headed the "Industrial Property", the "Public Procurement" and the "Retail Finance and Payment" policy units, and he was acting director for "EU and international Public procurement policy"; all in the DG for Internal Market and Financial services.

He studied law in Amsterdam and joined the European Commission in 1987 after 5 years in the Dutch Civil Service (Ministry of Economic Affairs).

He was in charge, since 1979 until 1986 of the coordination of the Industrial Chapter in the Spain's access negotiations to the European Community. He was nominated in August 1988 Director in the European Commission/DG III (Internal Market and Industrial Affairs), in charge of steel and, later on, of all the EU basic industries.
 
In January 2000, he became responsible in particular for Tourism and Service Industries, as well as for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within DG Enterprise and Industry. 
In January 2007, he was nominated Director responsible for the “New Approach Industries” (Equipment Goods, Construction Products, Toys), the Standardisation Policy, Tourism and CSR.  
From September 2010, he was the Director responsible for Tourism, CSR and Consumer Goods Industries in DG Enterprise and Industry.
 
Since last October 2012, he is the Director in charge of Tourism, of the Textiles, Fashion, Design and Creative Industries and of Key Enabling Technologies and the Digital Economy, in the new DG for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), since 1st January 2015.
 
Since 1st June 2015, he is Principal Adviser in DG GROW, responsible for the Task Force in charge of CSR and Tourism.
 
 


Cecilia Rizo Patrón

Ms Rizo Patrón is Sustainable Development Manager of Avanza Sostenible since 2015, consulting branch of Peru 2021, leading organization promoting CSR in Perú. For 8 years, Rizo Patrón has been in charge of sustainability projects and launched consultancy services at Peru 2021, having a key role promoting sustainability reporting in the mining, food, construction, finance and oil and energy sectors in Perú. She also lead the execution of the Business Transparency Program (BTP) in Perú, project developed by GRI; she is part of the editor committee of the publication Reporting Matters America Latina and working group member of the project Reporting Landscape Mapping, both promoted by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). At the same time she is lecturer in CSR and sustainability at the Pontifical Peruvian University of Peru and Universidad de Lima.

Previously, she completed a Master in Sustainable development and CSR at Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI), a Master in Social Management at Pontifical Peruvian University of Peru and a bachelors in Industrial Engineering at Peruvian University of Applied Science. The focus of this academic training has been on understanding the links between corporate responsibility, sustainability and business strategy. In addition, Cecilia has an MBA in Corporate Social Responsibility at Nottingham University and postgraduate studies in sustainability at Harvard University.

   
   




Rosa Garcia Pineiro

Rosa M. Piñeiro García is Vice President, Global Sustainability, since August 1, 2015 at Alcoa, a global leader in lightweight metals technology, engineering and manufacturing. Previously, she served as President of Alcoa Spain.

During her 16 years in the company, she also served as Director, Regional Affairs and Sustainability for Europe, and as Director, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) for the European Region as well as the Primary Products business in Europe. 

Rosa joined Alcoa in 1999 to work as an Environmental Engineer for the San Ciprian Smelter and Refinery in Spain. In 2001, she moved to the Corporate EHS Audit Department, working with the North American and European Audit Teams first in Pittsburgh and then in Madrid. In 2003, she moved back to San Ciprian to take over the Environmental Department as Environmental Manager for the Smelter and the Refinery.

Rosa was appointed Director of Regional Affairs and Sustainability in 2012, coordinating and overseeing government interactions in the different countries where Alcoa has interests and sustainability activities across Europe. 

Since 2012, she has served on the Board of Directors of Alcoa Foundation, and on the Advisory Boardof the School of Mining Engineers of Madrid since 2014.

She holds a Master of Industrial Engineering from University of Vigo (Spain), a Master of Environmental Engineering from Escuela de Organización Industrial - University of Madrid (Spain), an Executive MBA from the Haute École de Comerce - University of Geneva (Switzerland), and is finalizing her Master of Commodity Trading at the Geneva School of Business (Switzerland).  Of Spanish nationality, Rosa speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.

Girish Ramachandran is President, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Asia Pacific, responsible for business operations in 12 countries in the regions of Australia & New Zealand, ASEAN, Greater China and Korea. Girish is based in Singapore, the Headquarters of TCS Asia Pacific, where he oversees over 25,000 employees covering the region.

Girish joined TCS in 1994 and has held a number of key portfolios in the organization. Prior to TCS Asia Pacific, he served as Corporate Vice President in the CEO’s office at TCS House in Mumbai, where he was responsible for global strategic business initiatives. Before that, he was Head of TCS Europe (9 years), and TCS Middle East, Africa and Mediterranean (2 years), where he grew the business multifold and was instrumental in developing many key customer relationships with leading global brands. Other roles have included Head of TCS Business Intelligence Practice worldwide as well as Executive Sponsor of numerous global customer relationships.

Girish serves on a number of executive boards, including at the Europe-India Institute and International Business Foundation Amsterdam, Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industries’ Benelux chapter, and is a board member of Kooh Sports.

Girish holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, and a Master’s degree in Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. Marjan Schippers is deputy Director International Trade Policy and Economic Governance, at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign affairs. In her diplomatic career spanning over 20 years, she held several postings, most recently at the Dutch Permanent  Representation to the EU in Brussels, heading the international cooperation and development portfolio and before that at the Prime Ministers’ office dealing with Global Issues (G20) and the European Council. Dealing with mainly economic and EU portfolio’s throughout her career, she also was posted in Malaysia and Canada. 

   
   






Alyson Slater

Alyson heads GRI’s Knowledge Unit, which collects and mobilizes the vast knowledge and experience found within GRI’s multi-stakeholder network and staff. The Knowledge Unit develops new products and services to help reporting organizations, data users, and thought leaders optimize their use of GRI Sustainability Reporting Standard and the resulting reported data. Alyson is also responsible for GRI's Emerging Market Regional Hubs in Hispanic America, Africa and South East Asia.

Before returning to GRI in 2014, Alyson spent five years in Asia on various assignments: with CSR Asia, working on the role of business in development and poverty alleviation; with the Alliance for Financial Inclusion working on financial system policy and regulation for the poor; and in support of H.M. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands in her role as UN Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. Alyson was GRI’s Director of Strategy and Communications from 2001 to 2007. Prior to joining GRI she spent a year at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in Geneva.

Alyson received her Master's Degree from the University of British Columbia, and an honors Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University, both in Canada.

Colleen is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales, Scotland and South Africa. She has over 20 years combined commercial experience in environmental law and sustainability issues and holds an LLM (with distinction). The Legal 500 and Chambers recognised Colleen as a leading environmental law practitioner during her career as an environmental lawyer in the City of London.

Colleen founded CLT envirolaw in 2010, a niche sustainability, business and human rights consultancy. She is passionate about combating human trafficking, particularly in business supply chains, and participated in the development of the Modern Slavery Act in the UK and has been cited as one of the top CSR lawyers in influencing social media in this area. She was a founding director of not-for-profit Finance Against Trafficking (http://www.financeagainsttrafficking.org/). She has spoken widely on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, sustainable business more broadly, and the growing overlap between sustainability and the law. She is also part of the newly formed steering group of the British Association for Sustainable Sport (BASIS). Previously, she was an executive member and trustee of the UK Environmental Law Association for seven years.

Colleen has used her sustainability, human rights and legal knowledge to help companies understand how to meet both their legal obligations and voluntary best practice standards. She also teaches law at Birkbeck University, London, having recently designed and delivered a Masters course, on business and human rights and international laws as they apply to multinational corporations. She is a regular contributor to the legal and professional press and has authored numerous chapters in published books, most recently a DoShorts publication on ethical and sustainable procurement : Strategic Sustainable Procurement: law and best practice.

After a year as Chief of Staff to the CEO, he was named in 2008 Vice President for Innovation and Environment, where he was responsible for defining the company’s technological roadmap and drawing up the Group’s innovation plan. Daniel Wild is the Head of Sustainability Investing R&D and a Member of the Executive Committee at RobecoSAM, the investment manager exclusively focused on Sustainability Investing since 1995. Daniel oversees the organization, strategy, methodology and investment process of Research and Product Development at RobecoSAM. As such, Daniel is responsible for the identification and integration of financially material environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into the investment strategies of RobecoSAM as well as those of its parent company, Robeco.

Additionally, Daniel is responsible for the development of the RobecoSAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment methodology, an internationally renowned standard for ESG analysis. Its application on 3800 firms forms the basis of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), launched by RobecoSAM and S&P Dow Jones Indices, in 1999. Daniel joined RobecoSAM in 2006 as senior financial analyst and coordinator for the RobecoSAM Sustainable Water Strategy, before heading Sustainability Investing R&D and joining the Executive Committee in 2011.

Prior to joining RobecoSAM, Daniel led infrastructure financing programs in Southeastern Europe and Asia for the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (seco). From 1999 to 2004, Daniel headed the Environmental Technology Department at Ernst Basler and Partners, a Swiss engineering and consulting firm.

Daniel holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from ETH Zurich (1987- 1993) and a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG) (1993-1997). He pursued postdoctoral research studies at Stanford University in California between 1997 and 1999.

Daniel is a Board Member of Swiss Sustainable Finance, a member of the GRI Technology Consortium, and formerly a member of the GRI Sector Research Steering Committee and the UNEP FI Workstream Water Advisory Board.

Ory Zik is VP Analytics at Lux Research, assisting clients in various areas such as data analysis, sustainability, resource productivity, and navigating the energy - water - food nexus.

Ory has deep entrepreneurial and environmental background. In 2010 he founded Energy Points Inc. The company developed quantitative, data-driven methodology for sustainability and resource accounting, merging scientific rigor with geospatial data and behavioral economics to achieve both simplicity and accuracy. Lux Research acquired the company in the beginning of 2015.

Prior to Energy Points Ory was the founding CEO of HelioFocus Inc. HelioFocus developed and commercialized a solar thermal system to augment conventional power plants, replacing fossil fuel with solar-heated air. The company built a solar concentrator that uses air as a working fluid and feeds it into coal or natural gas power plants. HelioFocus operated in Israel and China. Ory led the company as CEO from 2007 to 2010.

Prior to HelioFocus, Ory was the founding CEO of QuantomiX Inc., which he led as CEO from 2000 to 2006. The company, based on his invention, was the first to visualize cells and tissues in their native/live state using an electron microscope.  El-Mul Technologies acquired the company in 2006. The QuantomiX capsule is now used by researchers around the world.

Ory holds B.Sc. (cum laude) in Physics and Mathematics from Tel Aviv University; M.Sc. (cum laude) and Ph.D. in Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science, where he received the National Amos De Shalit Physics prize. As a student he founded the Israeli branch of Greenpeace and helped build the organization’s clean Mediterranean campaign.
