MEET US Our story 10thousandgirl is a not for profit organisation started by a group of women in a Sydney pub in 2009. The girls quickly realised the importance and long term benefit of having a plan and understanding finance basics so they could make their plans happen. More and more women started to come. In March 2011 the campaign formally established a board of directors, laid governance in place and has grown to educate 1000’s of women across Australia every year with the initiative attracting national and more recently global recognition in their bid to contribute to increasing the wellbeing and economic health of women. Our goals The campaign plan over 2011-2015 is to inspire and educate 10,000 (nearly there so now 100,000!) women (typically 18-45) across Australia, with a specific focus on reaching remote and regional communities – in the process creating a global Ripple Effect through providing micro loans. Founder of the campaign, Zoe Lamont shares the campaign plans with Natarsha Belling, Ten News. How you can get involved Awareness raising activity and educational programs are being carried out in 100 remote, regional and metropolitan areas, largely delivered by passionate and committed volunteers in partnership with national and local community, government and private organisations. You can sign up to an online program or inspire your local community and request the campaign to be brought to your town by emailing us.
