President-elect Trump has been elected by about 62.7 million votes
The population of the United States is 318.9 milion
The population of voting age is 240.7 million
62.7 million votes is 19.7% of the total population and 26.0% of the voting age population
This means that about 3/4 of voting age Americans did NOT vote for Donald Trump.
Why did so many people not vote for Donald Trump? There are many reasons:
Some people are disgusted with politics, and Trump is going to be just as bad as the rest
Some people are disgusted with Trump's behavior on the campaign trail
... his rudeness as he confronted his opponents in the campaign
... his willingness to spout lies about almost everything
Some people are worried by his apparent lack of understanding of international risks
Some people are worried by his track record as a businessman ... winning for TRUMP but leaving a trail of damage as he wins
In the end ... it is absolutely clear to me that he had been elected to be President of the United States, but he has no mandate for this position.
