to me

Dear Peter,

On behalf of Concordia, thank you for participating in the 2017 Annual Summit. We hope you will agree that it was an exciting, inspiring and informative two days, and we are thrilled that you were able to join us.

Through action-oriented programming, we set out to explore the most pressing global challenges of today, with the goal of building effective cross-sector partnerships in order to drive collective action. We were honored to be joined by such a diverse and innovative range of speakers from across the public, private, and nonprofit space. Our programming spanned from an inspiring discussion between Joe Gebbia of Airbnb and David Miliband of the International Rescue Committee on the importance of partnerships in addressing today’s global humanitarian crisis, to a talk involving internationally-acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma on how to harness technology, arts, and culture in order to solve challenges around the world. We hope that you will agree that our discussions covered immense ground, while at their very core focusing on the power of partnerships in creating a more prosperous and sustainable future.

In the coming weeks, we will send a full report on the key takeaways from the Annual Summit, and look forward to sharing photos and videos from the event with all of you. In the meantime, we invite you to re-watch Day 1 and 2 of our plenary sessions on YouTube and view our Getty images from Day 1 and 2. Over the coming days, we will be uploading videos of all plenary and strategic dialogue sessions to YouTube, as well as all photos to our Flickr album.

We’d like to draw attention to our two separate Days of Engagement that took place over the Summit, where we invited attendees and Members to learn about successful partnerships through action. At the Summit itself, attendees created 1,000 first aid kits for Americares to deploy in its hurricane response efforts. The kits have already been sent to Houston for distribution to victims. On Wednesday, Members led a Job Readiness Workshop at the Fortune Society, conducting mock interviews for formerly incarcerated individuals as they prepare to reenter the workforce.

Last but not least, too many conferences end when the doors close and the lights go off. Concordia does things differently: we build from the Summit, incubating tangible partnerships that have year-long social impact. With that in mind, we encourage you to take our partnership questionnaire, which consists of 15 questions that assess your objectives and the assets you need to accomplish your mission. Using these results, Concordia will facilitate one-to-one email introductions with Members who share your goals and bring complementary assets to the table, be it insight, resources, influence, or skills. Please don't hesitate to contact our Social Impact team (socialimpact@concordia.net) with any questions.

We’d like to thank our sponsors, partners, collaborators and speakers for their support in making this Summit our best yet, and we would like to thank each and every one of you for joining us in our endeavor to build partnerships for social impact. We hope you will stay tuned for updates on our next convening.

Sincerely,

Matthew A. Swift Co-Founder, Chairman & CEO Concordia
