Peter,
How much will Charles and David Koch benefit from the Trump tax scam? If their recent $500,000 donation to House Speaker Paul Ryan is any indication, a lot.
Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund estimates that combined the Koch brothers could save between $1 billion and $1.4 billion in income taxes each year from the Trump tax law―and that doesn’t even count how much the brothers might save in taxes on offshore profits or how much their heirs will benefit from weakening the estate tax.
Last week, when all candidates and committees filed their quarterly campaign finance reports with the Federal Election Commission, Paul Ryan reported the nearly $500,000 contribution from the Kochs to “Team Ryan”―a joint fundraising committee, which benefits the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and a pro-Ryan PAC. The Kochs gave an additional quarter million to the NRCC, which funds candidates for the House.[1]
The Kochs spent at least $20 million getting the law enacted, and they are spending tens of millions more brainwashing voters to believe the Trump tax giveaway is good for them. This is the Koch plan for getting their lackeys elected to Congress in the critical 2018 mid-term elections.
What a great return on investment―spend tens of millions to get a billion or more in tax breaks every year!
To counter the massive resources of the Koch brothers and other billionaire donors, we need your help. We’re launching a campaign to hold all those who voted for the Trump tax scam accountable. Donate to Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund today to get started!
In addition to the personal tax breaks the Koch brothers are receiving, the new tax law also includes special deductions for oil and gas production―one of the primary sources of income for Koch Industries.
The Koch brothers’ investment in Paul Ryan and the National Republican Congressional Committee (as well as the tens of millions they’re spending to promote the new tax law) are just a drop in the bucket compared to the windfall in tax breaks they’re receiving.
Help counter the deep pockets of the Koch brothers and their fellow billionaires, and donate to Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund today!
Together, we’re demanding an economy and a tax system that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few. And we’re holding Donald Trump and his allies in Congress accountable in 2018.
Thank you,
Craig Johnson
