Authors Chelsea Johnson, LaToya Council and Carolyn Choi, discuss their new children’s book IntersectionAllies, which introduces young readers to the stories of nine individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, and uses relatable and accessible stories to explore these complex and nuanced topics. Each of the nine characters’ stories explain how children’s lives and experiences are shaped by intersecting identities (class, sexuality, dis/ability, race, religion, among others), and how we can reach across lines of difference to support, understand, and care for each other.
