Without #physician leaders like Cristin Dickerson MD who've had enough of wildly under-performing status quo healthcare system, I wouldn't have the hope I have for the 2020's. We know we're paying Cadillac prices for a Pinto healthcare system. Unfortunately, Dickerson & other docs are being asked to be Mario Andrettis while driving a Pinto healthcare model. They live my fav Bucky Fuller quote: 'You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.' Dickerson is creating a safe harbor from price-gouging for patients & hc purchasers such as employers via Transparent Open Networks (successor to the value-extracting PPOs). #HealthRosetta type plans recognize that healthcare isn't expensive. What's expensive is price-gouging, profiteering health systems, PBMs, etc. as well as crushing administrative bloat. After all, clinicians (the primary value creators) only get $0.25 of every $1 ostensibly spent on healthcare. Dickerson's Green Imaging is a great example of the DIY health reform movement that enables the subtitle to one of my books (world-class healthcare at half the cost). There is no reason to accept the tyranny of low expectations of status quo #healthplans.

Thank you ... YES ... the US healthcare system is not fit for the purpose of healthcare but has been seriously hijacked by the simplistic and stupid goal of maximizing revenues and profits. Actually the cost of a lot of healthcare activities have gone down substantially over the past decades ... but it is the price that has gone up. I find it annoying that getting to understand the numbers and the money flows in the US health system is almost impossible ... a classic trick when the money flows are being abused. #TVM PeterB…see more
