MTA Kicks AOC Out Of The Subway For Illegally Filming ‘Desus & Mero’... a video

In totally unsurprising news, the MTA is kind to no man, woman, or member of Congress. On Thursday night, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stopped by Desus & Mero to give viewers a tour of the Bronx, but she wasn’t exactly given the royal treatment. At the beginning of the pre-taped segment, Ocasio-Cortez and hosts Desus Nice and The Kid Mero revealed that they were “kicked out by the transit police” for filming in the Parkchester Subway Station.
After a wild few weeks in Washington, D.C., Ocasio-Cortez traveled back to her home borough and revisited some of her old haunts with fellow Bronx natives Desus and Mero. The Timbs-wearing trio began their tour outside the Parkchester station, where Desus revealed that they just had a contentious experience with the MTA. “I’d like to point out, we got kicked out by the transit police,” he said. “Flex and be like, ‘You know who I am?'”
“It just goes to show, no matter how high you go, we will still get checked on the MTA,” joked Ocasio-Cortez. “That’s the truth,” replied Desus. “You’re lucky we didn’t hop.”
Ocasio-Cortez, Desus, and Mero proceeded to hit up a local bodega for bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches (hold the ketchup for AOC) before going into a bar, where the congresswoman showed off her bartending skills. “An online comment you get a lot is, ‘Go back to bartending.’ Is that insulting?” asked Desus. “It’s not an insult to me, and I feel like people are always clowning themselves when they say that,” said Ocasio-Cortez. “You think every person you represent that’s a bartender, a waitress, a working person, what, that they can’t do this job? Because let me tell you, I work with some of these people, and they are not smarter than a bartender.”
After a first round of drinks, Desus and Mero assured Ocasio-Cortez that she’s still got it behind the bar. “I’m glad that I didn’t lose my touch,” said AOC. “I’m very proud of that.”
