24th Annual Kovner-Behrman Health Forum Presented by NYU Wagner MARCH 26 2020 5:30pm - 7:30pm Public add to: Google Calendar | iCalendar DATE: March 26, 2020 TIME: 5:30pm - 7:30pm LOCATION: The Puck Building - 295 Lafayette Street, The Rudin Family Forum for Civic Dialogue, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10012 Over the past several years the movement to increase transparency around price and quality in healthcare services has had remarkable resiliency, with policy proposals from the New York State and Federal government announced within the past year. The proposals seek to give consumers the ability to compare prices for hospital services and ultimately lower their costs through making informed purchasing decisions. But will increased access to pricing information actually result in lower costs? What about transparency around the quality of services? And what challenges do hospitals, policymakers, and consumers face in making price transparency work? Join us for a discussion with James Robinson, distinguished Health Policy professor at UC Berkeley, Dr. Catherine MacLean, Chief Value Officer at Hospital for Special Surgery, and Mark Zezza, Director of Policy and Research NYSHealth on how to further develop a healthcare strategy utilizing price and quality transparency. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Ramon Jacobs-Shaw on policy of wage transparency, accessible prices to consumers, coupling information with incentives, and fostering a market that rewards organizations with more patients, more revenue and the sense that you can do well by doing right.
