While he addressed the nation about the need for law and order during massive demonstrations against police brutality, federal officers forcefully moved protesters with tear gas and flash bangs to clear a path for the president. Trump, after a heavily guarded walk from the White House, then posed with a Bible in front of St. John's Church, which had been targeted by vandals. Trump also threatened to send in the U.S. military to cities that don't get control of the protests, which have turned violent in some cases as outrage over the police killing of unarmed black man George Floyd continued to swell.
