The second wave is here. South Dakota’s COVID-19 rate exceeded sixty percent this week. New York City public schools may go fully remote. And, Governor Cuomo just announced a new COVID-19 curfew on bars and restaurants in New York — leaving bartenders, restaurant workers, and small business owners worried about how they’ll make it through the winter months.
Mitch McConnell has the power to provide urgent assistance to working people across the country, yet he still refuses to compromise with Democrats. It’s time McConnell and Senate Republicans do their jobs and provide the critical aid working people need.

The House passed a stimulus bill back in May that would provide another round of stimulus checks, increased unemployment benefits and housing protections — but Senate Republicans and the Trump administration have fought for months over whether a stimulus package of this size is necessary. Reality check, it is.
With the unemployment rate sitting at 7 percent, and the number of cases rising every day, millions are struggling to stay safe and put food on the table for their families. These families need help now. And yet, Republicans are refusing to pass a stimulus bill because they think it does “too much” to help working people.
