Join us this Sunday: Celebrating and Understanding Juneteenth Join us for a special conversation with David Blight, Sterling Professor of History and African American Studies at Yale. Professor Blight will talk with us about the importance of Juneteenth and how celebrating the Black experience of emancipation can reframe our national memory of the Civil War and lead to greater justice and racial healing today. Professor Blight won the Pulitzer Prize for his book Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom. Some of his other most notable works include: Race and Reunion: The Civil War in American Memory and A Slave No More: Two Men Who Escaped to Freedom, Including their Narrative of Emancipation.
