Some aspects of the modern Chinese economy are very impresszive, and the ability of top leadership in the Chineses Communist Party to prescribe policy explains some of the success. The 'Common Prosperity' initiative has the potential to improve the economic performance of the country, but, it should be noted, the performance may not be achieved if some underlying issues in the society are not addressed. These issues are not included in the following material.
