The Bouncing Tale of the Pacers
44,938 views Jul 10, 2021 Ruairidh MacVeigh 68.3K subscribers Hello everyone! :D Following the end of Class 143 use in May 2021, I felt it would be best to summarise the strange and controversial history of the bus-like Pacers, a short-term stop-gap series of regional multiple units based largely off the underpinnings of a Leyland National bus. However, despite the criticism they received, the Pacer's far outlived their original 20 year operational lifespan, and for good or for ill, kept the British railway network ticking over until new forms of stock came in to replace them.
