Peter, states and localities around the country are falling over themselves attempting to restrict our reproductive freedom. Some cities—including my very own backyard of Collier County, Florida—are trying to pass “sanctuary city of the unborn” ordinances, which attempt to restrict abortion either entirely or at six weeks, a blatant violation of Roe v. Wade.

The issue is making waves throughout our once quiet coastal community, where a loud minority of conservative extremists have continued to yell for tighter abortion policies at city council meetings.
After SB8 passed in Texas, the law banning abortion after six weeks, that loud minority now has their eyes set on federal legislation, too. It's time we stop trying to control the reproductive rights of others with policies that reverse decades of work and progress.

The Supreme Court is currently weighing a ruling on Texas SB 8, the grossly unconstitutional attack on reproductive freedom that allows private citizens to enforce a six-week abortion ban.
Meanwhile, the Texas law is inspiring right-wing politicians across the country to enact similar, devastating restrictions on abortion access. In fact, in 2021 Republican-controlled states have enacted more than 100 laws restricting abortion access, the most in any year since Roe v. Wade.
These are direct attacks on our personal freedom. We need your help to fight back against these bans and ensure every single one of us has the right to control our own bodies.

Texas state officials launched an archaic, restrictive, and grossly unconstitutional attack on our reproductive freedom when they enacted SB 8, a six-week abortion ban.
SB 8 also permits any person around the country to sue any Texan who helps patients access abortion care after six weeks, including religious leaders, counselors, family members, rideshare drivers, providers, and abortion fund staff and volunteers.
What's happening in Texas affects all of us. The Texas law is inspiring politicians across the country to enact similar, devastating restrictions on abortion access.
Following suit, a Republican state lawmaker in Florida is proposing a bill that would ban most abortions as early as around six weeks, allow members of the public to sue anyone who helps end a pregnancy beyond that point and fine physicians $10,000 for each abortion they perform later in pregnancy.
Outside of six-week bans, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Montana and South Dakota have all put in place restrictions to abortion access just this year. In fact, states have enacted more than 100 abortion restrictions this year in what has become the most restrictive year for abortion access since Roe v. Wade.
These are direct attacks on our personal freedoms, and we need your help to fight back against these bans and ensure every single one of us has the right to control our own bodies.
