ELECTRIC MOTORS Tesla Model 3's motor - The Brilliant Engineering behind it VIEW YOUTUBE VIDEO Original article: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esUb7Zy5Oio Burgess COMMENTARY I was interested 'How Things Work' since I was very young. This was the title of my favorite book when I was around 9 years old. I went on to study engineering at university and my favorite place was the engineering lab where all sorts of interesting things were on display ... early jet enginees, cut away IC engines, a small version of a power station steam generator and othere interesing things. This is where I learned the basics of measuring performance in complex systems. It was obvious how much products improved over time as people learned more and more about how they work. While it is sometimes easy to think that no further improvement in a product is possible, looking at the past shows how much things can improve over time. It is fascinating how much the performance of an electic motor changes depending on the way it is engineered. Fascinating. Thank you. Peter Burgess | |||||||||
