REPORT: TWO MILLION REFUGEES FLEE UKRAINE
Ukrainian authorities are accusing Russia of targeting children, women, and the elderly. The U.N. says nearly 500 civilians have been killed so far, as heavy rocket fire pins down civilians in besieged cities like Mariupol. Meanwhile, two million refugees -- half of them children -- have fled Ukraine. They're pouring across borders like Moldova's, where correspondent Ivan Watson files a report on their stories.

The British government is being criticized for choking off the flow of refugees with red tape: Out of almost 20,000 applications, just a few hundred visas have so far been issued to Ukrainian refugees. Meanwhile, the independent Norwegian Refugee Council has announced plans to support 800,000 victims of the conflict, both inside and outside Ukraine. The organization's secretary general joins the show from Oslo.
REPORT: RUSSIAN MOTHERS CALL UKRAINIAN HOTLINE
Russians looking for news of their relatives -- namely the soldiers whom Putin and his generals have sent into battle -- are resorting to a Ukrainian hotline for information. The confusion and desperation in these women's voices is apparent in recorded messages. Correspondent Alex Marquardt reports.

On this International Women's Day Vladimir Putin sought to placate Russian wives and mothers, mindful of their central role in Russian society. Historian Olesya Khromeychuk, director of the Ukrainian Institute London, lost her brother in the 2014 Russian invasion of eastern Ukraine, while Afghan activist Orzala Nemat has twice survived Taliban takeovers of her native Afghanistan. They join the program to mark International Women's Day and reflect on their countries' shared experiences.

Bill McKibben: How to Defeat Putin and Climate Change
With oil prices at a 14-year high, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said today that the EU has to 'get rid of the dependency on Russian gas, oil, and coal.' Bill McKibben says responding with renewables is the way to both defeat Putin and alleviate climate change. He tells Hari Sreenivasan that now is the time to transition away from fossil fuels.
