Morale and motivation are incredibly important in any team sport. War is not a sport, but it is a collective endevour and without morale and motivation any army will have difficulty winning.
Before the Ukraine War, I imagined that the Russian military was very very powerful, rather than being rotton from top to bottom. At the top there seems to be a culture of gross corruption and in the lower ranks, a lack of training, equipment and enthusiasm.
The Russians still have scale on their side ... and a nuclear capability ... but in every other aspect of the Ukraine War, Putin is clearly a loser.
