The thinking behind this is that we should admire this man and be in awe of his success. I am sure there was a time in my life when I might have been seduced by this ... but not any more. Certainly there is things that one can learn from the Schwarzman accumulation of wealth, but the idea that this is an ideal and a success is more wrong than right. Frankly ... I would like to have a bigger financial cushion than I have at this point in my life ... but on balance I am quite proud of my life and am quite comfortable arguing that my life has been more valuable than Schwarzman's. Sadly in the modern world and especially in the USA 'wealth' is respected a whole lot more than 'good'. Peter Burgess
