11 Sep: Insane Marine Operation. Ukrainians TAKE OVER 4 OIL PLATFORMS NEAR CRIMEA | Ukraine War

Ukrainian forces are advancing both in the south and east and in the Black Sea.

Yesterday we reported serious gains on both the southern and eastern fronts.

Today, there are positive advances for the Ukrainians on the front, but the most critical developments of today took place in the Black Sea off the coast of Crimea.

The Ukrainian Navy successfully retook what was theirs in a spectacular operation off the coast of Crimea.

It has been about a week since we have witnessed a very violent airstrike or missile firing, especially on the Crimean peninsula and near the Black Sea-Azac coast.

But the other day the Ukrainians launched an attack that shook Russian dominance in the Black Sea.

There were 4 violent explosions in southern Crimea.

There were explosions near Simferopol, in critical settlements on the peninsula, such as Stary Krym and Feodosya.

Russian air defense systems were also activated in the northern parts of Crimea, in and around Dzhankoy.

Russian authorities in Crimea claimed that Ukrainian military drones were shot down near this settlement.

We have become accustomed to such attacks on Russians in Crimea and off the Black Sea.

Almost every day in the past weeks we have seen similar offensive operations, explosions and fires in Crimea.

But with a shocking news that hit the news agenda today, Ukrainians reminded us who is the real sovereign in the Black Sea.

There was a surprise operation against drilling platforms that the Russians have long controlled in the Black Sea's key oil and gas supply.

The Russians have often used such sites for their plans to invade Ukraine.

But Ukrainian forces put an end to this and made Russia tremble again in the Black Sea.

Ukrainian Military Intelligence announced that Ukraine has liberated the oil and gas drilling platforms Boyka Towers off the Crimean coast in the Black Sea.

A unique operation was carried out by units of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to establish control over the Boika Towers, in particular by Petro Godovalets and Ukrainian drilling platforms.

At one of the stages of this operation, there was a violent clash between Ukrainian special forces on boats and a Russian Su-30 fighter jet.

As a result of the clash, the Russian aircraft was damaged and forced to retreat.

During the operation, the special forces of the Ukrainian army managed to capture valuable trophies.

Among them were NAR-type helicopter ammunition, i.e. unguided aerial missiles, as well as the Neva radio-electronic station, which can track the movement of ships in the Black Sea.

Before Russia seized the Crimean peninsula, Ukraine extracted a significant portion of its natural gas from the Black Sea shelf, supplying gas not only to Crimea but also to mainland Ukraine.

The platforms had been occupied since 2014 by Russia, which seized and annexed Crimea in 2015.

And Russia has been using them for military purposes since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

The Boika Rigs are oil and gas drilling platforms in the Black Sea, close to the Crimean coast.

So it was of strategic importance for Ukraine to regain control of the Boiko Towers.

Because Russia has lost the ability to use them for military purposes.

Moreover, Russia has been deprived of the ability to fully control the waters of the Black Sea, which brings Ukraine many steps closer to regaining Crimea. As we all know, losing Crimea is a red line for Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

But the retaking of the drilling platforms is just one of the steps that could spell the end of Russian hegemony in Crimea and the Black Sea.

This is because of the current military build-up by the Ukrainians to seize the initiative on the peninsula.

Some Russian sources have confirmed this, which has become much more publicized with the rescue of the drilling platforms.

The Russians are seriously alarmed by the Ukrainian tanks and a huge force of 150,000 soldiers currently preparing to liberate Crimea.

A telephone conversation intercepted by Ukrainian Military Intelligence has revealed reports that Kiev is preparing three divisions of troops and equipment to retake the peninsula.

Some of the Russian army soldiers stationed in Crimea have recently started discussing this issue.

It is not clear where the Russian military heard about such a force ready to take Crimea. In fact, in a recent interview with Ukrainian TV presenter Natalya Moseychuk, President Zelensky expressed hope that there would be no direct confrontation between Russian and Ukrainian troops in Crimea.
