This is an interesting development ... and something I should have anticipated.
For the oast several months ... since early 2023 I have been reminded that it was North Korea that was the industrial engine of the formerly united Korea and South Korea was the rather 'backward' agricultural region.
People can progess in amazing ways if they are given opportunity. South Korea has performed by almost any progress metric in an amazing way over the oast several decades ... and that is enormously important.
But what about North Korea?
As a happy society it probably ranks at the bottom!
As a technically competent industral society it may be rather near the top ... not at the top but way too close to the top to be ignored. The fact that this competence is being used to build 'destructive power' is an issue ... but .......
This issue is on my radar, of coures, because of the visit of Kim (North Korea) to Putin (Russia) in connection with the Ukraine War and perhaps other matters.
