I am not sure about its academic rigor, but it is better than most at telling an important and complex story in what I see as a reasonably balanced manner. I have quite strong views about what is good and bad about the modern 'West' and do not want to see it fail. I am bothered by the 'pettyness' of a lot of the allies in the modern Western world and the unwillingness of everyone to pitch in to make sure that there is a good outcome for everyone going forward.
