Peter Burgess COMMENTARY
I am archiving this video about 6 weeks after the event took place.

Essentially, there is nothing in this video that I take issue with ... everyone that said something was on point and broadly upset that support for Ukraine has stayed too little and too late for all of the two years since Russia launched its offensive against Ukraine.

In my view, Hillary Clinton deserves special mention. What she had to say was very thought provoking and on point especially when it came to the role the USA needs to play in order for the world order to be stable into the future. She addressed the tardiness of rhe USA with respect to support for Ukraine and the delivery of essential munitions as well as what could be the outcome of a Trump political win in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election.

I woke up in the middle of last night thinking that if Biden chooses not to run in the upcoming Presidential election ... it would be good if Hillary Clinton ran. She has the brain to do an excellent job which is a lot more than can be said for Trump!

I should add, that in addition to the speakers listed below, three individuals who had served with the Ukraine military spoke of their experience. I think all three had had serious injuries and I think two of them had been captured by the Russians and incarcerated in Russia before being returned to Ukraine as part of a prisoner exchange.

I am not a professional historian, but I do know something of what has happened in my lifetime in part because I have read the better newspapers during my lifetime and the fact that my father had studied history himself before becoming a schoolmaster! It worries me that few people have much of an understanding of how the world works, and a lot of powerful people are incredibly greedy and 'me-centric'. The idea that America elected Trump to be President is difficult to comprehend ... and the idea that he might get elected a second time defies all reason.

History shows that bad things happen. Hitler got to be Chancellor in Germany ... and a lot of other evil people have become 'top-dog' in their countries during my lifetime. Putin is now at the top of Russia.

A 'good' world is possible ... but it will require work and serious committment on the part of the world's 'good folk'. At the moment ... April 7th 2024 ... there is little interest on the part of Americans to make the essential commitments and do the work that will ensure that Ukraine wins and Putin is defeated!
