There are 50 states and only 14 are 'dying' or lost population in 2023. 3 of those states New Mexico, Massachusetts, and Maryland lost about .1%
In the video, we are looking at the other 11.
States should not be losing population. Death rates and birth rates are normally about the same with birth rates being a fraction higher most years. Where the difference comes from is the people moving out, vs. moving in. When you have a state that is breaking even on growth it is bad. It is usually an indication something isn’t going right in the state. But, if they lose more than .1% that is bad. It may not seem like it, but it is.
