THE CENOTAPH

Due to the death of his nephew, King Albert 1of Belgium and in recognition of of the heroism and sacrifice of the Belgian army in the First World War, King George V of Great Britain bestowed a unique honour on the Belgians, never given to any other non-Commonwealth country, that of a yearly parade at the Cenotaph in Whitehall. Allowing their troops to parade through central London in uniform and carrying arms.
- This years parade was lead by the Band of the Grenadier Guards.
- The parade started at the Cenotaph where there was a remembrance service and wreath laying.
- It was an extra special year this year as the King and Queen of Belgium were in attendance as well as The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, who were representing King Charles.
- The parade then moved onto Horse Guards where another service was held at the Guards Memorial before the parade headed back to Wellington Barracks.
