president kamla Harris and Renewed Energy right away was restored into the Democratic campaign for the presidency I mean a selfless act by President Biden contrasted with the most selfish acts by Donald Trump trying to overthrow a free and fair election to install himself as a dictator and the voters and the American public are taking note look fundraising was over 81 million doll for vice president kamla Harris now as the presumptive Democratic nominee for president in a 24hour period she's received the endorsement from Governor's unions 1:00 Democratic leaders a major Niki Hy political action committee social media influencers celebrities the memes have been rolling out and it definitely feels like there is an energy that was missing that said with President Biden missing from the top of the ticket it is so important that we reflect on his accomplishments one of the most transformative if not the most transformative president in recent American history someone who has accomplished so much and we all saw what was happening I hope you've all appreciated our coverage here on the mightest touch Network and it was definitely very upsetting to me and sometimes it's hard for me as a newscaster to set that aside so I hope you will just allow me to share some raw 1:59 emotion as I did over the weekend when 2:02 President Biden announced um that he would be ending his campaign I thought President Biden was still primed to win I thought President Biden was a good candidate I thought President Biden was again one of the most accomplished presidents that said I am equally confident if if and very very very positive about vice president kamla Harris and winning and I think it's time that we unite as a pro-democracy community there's really no time to waste with democracy on the line and that's what we're going to do at the midest touch Network we're continuing to make our coverage unapologetically pro-democracy and we are going to continue to call all of this out also it is enjoyable to watch Donald Trump's campaign in Maga in a total and absolute Panic right now as they're trying to figure out what to do here let's bring in Brett and Jordy Brett Jordy you got 3:01 Donald Trump posting all night most of his posts still about President Biden um they don't really know what they're doing how how are you guys doing it's been a it's been a roller coaster of 3:12 emotions yeah and and first I want to 3:14 address the emotional aspect about this 3:17 all because I know you know we all 3:20 definitely certainly have to move on and 3:24 uh you know go get behind democracy and 3:27 I love the energy that we have seen in 3:29 the past 24 hours I love the unity that 3:32 we have seen in the past 24 hours but I 3:34 think it's important to at least 3:35 momentarily reflect on that emotional uh 3:39 aspect which is you know President Biden 3:42 leaving the race was difficult for a lot 3:44 of people I know it was difficult for us 3:46 here I know it's difficult for a lot of 3:48 you there and I genuinely believe that 3:51 may maybe until the latest batch of 3:53 polls came out yesterday that President 3:55 Biden had no intention of going anywhere 3:59 and it's tough you know President Biden 4:01 has had a storied career he's had an 4:04 incredible life he's also had a very 4:06 difficult life and I think throughout 4:09 President Biden's life it's been defined 4:12 by his personal sacrifice and I think 4:16 that was no better shown than yesterday 4:19 when he did what Donald Trump couldn't 4:23 do in a billion years in fact Donald 4:25 Trump tried to cling on to power to 4:28 destroy this country but But ultimately 4:30 President Biden felt that it was his 4:32 responsibility to give up his future 4:35 power in order to save this country and 4:38 I think that is while very deeply 4:40 saddening to me personally um and so 4:44 many Americans out there I think it is 4:46 such a noble thing to do and really 4:49 speaks to the man's character and his 4:52 integrity and I think you know he he's 4:55 he accomplished so much and the good 4:58 thing with kamla is I think she gets to 5:01 continue on with that Legacy from the 5:04 Biden Harris Administration and 5:06 President Biden isn't going anywhere 5:07 he's still working his butt off for 5:10 these next few months as president of 5:12 the United States and I know earlier he 5:14 said that he was going to actually hit 5:15 the campaign trail with kamla Harris 5:17 we'll play some of the president's 5:19 comments uh in a little bit but I mean 5:21 from the American Rescue plan the 5:23 infrastructure act the inflation 5:25 reduction act the pacted act so many 5:28 different policies that are going to 5:30 impact people's lives for future 5:32 Generations the chips and science act I 5:34 mean this the the fact that President 5:37 Biden got us out of the covid pandemic 5:41 defeated Trump saved democracy once and 5:44 is looking to save democracy again I 5:47 think President Biden is going to go 5:49 down in history when this is all said 5:50 and done as one of the single best 5:53 presidents of all time quite frankly 5:56 certainly one of the most consequential 5:57 presidents of all time with trans 5:59 formative pieces of legislation making 6:02 it through doing more I would say in his 6:04 three and a half years at up to this 6:06 point than most presidents do when 6:08 they're given eight years to do work for 6:11 the American people so I just want to 6:13 make sure that that's clear out front 6:15 now with all that said I after you know 6:18 I I think we don't have really time at 6:20 this point to kind of lick our wounds I 6:23 think we need to move forward the only 6:24 path forward is forward and we're lucky 6:27 that we have a great nominee who is 6:29 already on the ticket and vice president 6:31 kamla Harris and seeing the unity seeing 6:35 everybody from labor to never trumpers 6:37 to progressives to gen Z to celebrities 6:41 to everybody who was normally part of 6:45 this Pro democracy Coalition joined 6:47 forces in these past 24 hours with a 6:50 level of enthusiasm that I have not seen 6:53 in years it was such an incredible site 6:56 such an incredible site and something 6:58 that's much needed and I think this 7:00 contrast that we have now between the 7:03 prosecutor and the Felon is a good case 7:07 uh to be made to the American people 7:09 it's quite clearcut and suddenly Donald 7:12 Trump is now the oldest nominee in 7:16 presidential history and the entire book 7:18 that they wrote on how they were going 7:19 to run this campaign has been flipped 7:22 completely on them and it is quite the 7:25 sight to behold I know that was a bit 7:27 long in the beginning I'll toss the 7:28 Jordy I know we got a lot to get into no 7:30 that that was great look these last 7:32 three weeks have been the longest 10 7:35 months of my 31 years on this planet and 7:38 I'm sure it's like that for a lot of 7:39 folks right now President Biden is a 7:42 patriot he deeply loves this country and 7:45 he wouldn't have done what he did unless 7:48 he thought it was definitely the best 7:49 way to beat Trump in November my cards 7:51 are on the table like I I've spoken 7:53 about this on the podcast and I know I'm 7:55 speaking for a lot of the mightest 7:56 mighty because we've had the 7:58 conversations too 8:00 this isn't what I wanted but the stakes 8:01 are far too high to sit in sulk as Brett 8:04 said the only way forward is forward the 8:08 pro-democracy co the pro-democracy 8:10 Coalition we have to Rally behind kamla 8:13 Harris as the Democratic nominee and 8:15 we've seen that happen in action like 8:17 the energy right now for Harris is 8:20 palpable the donations coming her way 8:22 are 8:23 extraordinary but the money and the 8:26 energy just simply won't be enough to 8:28 beat Trump right we all have to recommit 8:31 ourselves to the mission and we have to 8:33 we have to have our voices heard at The 8:36 Ballot Box know Democrats now have this 8:38 young energized ticket taking on the 8:41 oldest and least popular presidential 8:43 candidate in history the Dems can win 8:46 but it's gonna take all of us and we 8:47 have to keep the faith we got this look 8:50 it's an important moment right now not 8:52 just for Dems for the pro-democracy 8:54 community for team normaly right for 8:58 team democracy 8:59 to unite and see the stakes I think one 9:02 of the most difficult challenges that 9:04 President Biden had just among others is 9:07 that the corporate media was not 9:10 stopping their narrative and people 9:13 needed to reflect on the threats that 9:16 Donald Trump posed and while there were 9:19 some important voices on Independent 9:21 networks like this and a handful of 9:23 others by and large the media was 9:26 refusing to cover the threats to 9:28 democracy and I think that's where 9:30 President Biden made the decision at the 9:32 kind of that very last moment over the 9:34 weekend to say look we need to focus on 9:37 the the threats that Trump is posing 9:40 let's just go and show you though some 9:42 of um these historic moments that 9:44 unfolded over the weekend over the past 9:46 24 hours here is Vice President Harris 9:49 on President Joe Biden's Legacy during a 9:52 White House Event honoring the NCAA 9:54 Championship teams earlier in the day 9:56 let me show you this and I wanted to say 9:58 a few words about our president 10:00 Joe Biden's Legacy of accomplishment 10:02 over the past 3 years is unmatched in 10:06 modern history in one term he has 10:09 already Yes you make 10:11 [Laughter] 10:15 clap in one term he has already 10:18 surpassed the legacy of most presidents 10:21 who have served two terms in office and 10:24 I first came to know President Biden 10:26 through his sunbo we worked together as 10:29 attorney Attorneys General in our states 10:31 and back then Bo would often tell me 10:33 stories about his dad he would talk 10:36 about the kind of father and the kind of 10:39 man that Joe Biden is the qualities that 10:43 Bo revered in his father are the same 10:47 qualities that I have seen every day in 10:50 our president his honesty his 10:54 Integrity his commitment to his faith 10:57 and his family his big heart and his 11:01 love deep love of our country and I am 11:05 firsthand witness that every 11:08 day our President Joe Biden fights for 11:11 the American people and we are deeply 11:13 deeply grateful for his service to our 11:21 nation as I said at the top of the show 11:24 as well it's now about the prosecutor 11:28 kamla Harris versus the convicted felon 11:31 in Donald Trump someone who was found 11:33 liable for sexual assault someone who 11:35 has bankrupted most of the companies 11:38 that he's uh been involved with and so 11:41 for people wondering is Vice President 11:44 Harris's um prosecutorial skills how are 11:47 they going to translate in a debate with 11:50 the next debate coming over uh G to 11:52 happen in September let's just take a 11:54 look at some of these debates like um a 11:57 recent one where vice president Harris 11:59 called Donald Trump uh White House a 12:02 criminal Enterprise during the 12:04 democratic debate in 2020 she was a 12:06 great debater here watch this we have a 12:08 criminal living in the white house and 12:11 there is no question that in 2020 the 12:13 biggest issue before us until we get to 12:15 that tender moment is justice is on the 12:17 ballot and what we saw today is 12:20 Ambassador sonland by his own words told 12:23 us that everyone was in the loop that 12:27 means it is a criminal Enterprise 12:30 engaged in by the president from what we 12:32 heard today the vice president the 12:34 Secretary of State and the chief of 12:37 staff and so this not only points to the 12:40 corrupt nature of this Administration 12:41 and the need for these impeachment 12:43 proceedings to go forward but it also 12:45 points to another issue and back to the 12:48 question that you asked earlier which is 12:50 what does this mean for the American 12:51 people cuz what it means when I watch 12:54 this is that there are clearly two 12:56 different set of rules for two different 12:58 groups of people in America the powerful 13:01 people who with their arrogance think 13:02 they can get away with this and then 13:04 everybody else because here's the thing 13:07 for those working people who are working 13:08 two and three jobs if they don't pay 13:11 that credit card by the end of the month 13:12 they get a penalty for the people who 13:14 don't pay their rent they get evicted 13:16 for the people who shoplift they go to 13:18 jail we need the same set of rules for 13:21 everybody and part of the reason I'm 13:23 running for president is to say that we 13:25 have to bring Justice back to America 13:27 for all people and not just for 13:30 some want to show you another very 13:33 powerful moment from uh the debate that 13:36 vice president Harris had back in the 13:38 Democratic primaries in 2020 let me show 13:41 you this one as well there are plenty of 13:43 people who applauded black women for the 13:45 success of the 2018 election applauded 13:48 black women for the election of a 13:49 senator from Alabama um but you know at 13:53 some point folks get tired of just 13:56 saying oh you know thank me for showing 13:58 up and want and and say well show up for 14:00 me because when black women when black 14:05 women are three to four times more 14:07 likely to die in connection with child 14:09 birth in America when the sons of black 14:12 women will die because of gun violence 14:15 more than any other cause of death when 14:18 black women make 61 cents on the dollar 14:21 as compared to all women who tragically 14:22 make 80 cents on the dollar the question 14:25 has to be where you 14:27 been and what are you going to 14:30 do powerful moment right there and then 14:33 I forgot about this video that we made 14:35 at the midest touch uh Network back in 14:38 2020 um after uh vice president kamla 14:42 Harris then Senator kamla Harris's 14:44 debate with then vice president now 14:47 former vice president Mike Pence there 14:49 was some powerful moments there and we 14:51 did a video on it let me just share with 14:53 you let's see if some of the OG mest 14:55 Mighty remember this one let's play this 14:57 is important and I want 14:59 Mr Vice President I'm speaking I'm 15:01 speaking it is asking too much of the 15:03 people is asking too much of the people 15:06 well Susan uh thank you although I would 15:08 like to go back I I think we need to 15:10 move on to the but I would like to go 15:12 back in 186 I'd like you to answer the 15:15 question Mr Vice President I'm speaking 15:17 I'm 15:18 speaking we still learn from it and I I 15:21 think the American people I want see 15:23 again can be proud president I'm sorry 15:25 what we have done she has 15 seconds 15:27 because I got look well you I'm sorry 15:30 but vice president had more time than 15:32 she's had the truth and the fact is Joe 15:34 Biden has been very clear he will not 15:36 raise taxes on anybody who makes less 15:38 than $400,000 a year repal the Trump tax 15:40 C Mr Vice President I'm 15:42 speaking I'm speaking Trump uh 16:11 where she said the following about the 16:13 first party to retire there 80-year-old 16:16 candidate let's play this one the first 16:19 party to retire its 80y old candidate is 16:22 going to be the party that wins this 16:26 election and then we have n h saying 16:30 this about Donald Trump over and over 16:32 again let's play that 16:34 clip times change and so has Trump he's 16:39 gotten more unstable and unhinged if you 16:43 mock the service of a combat veteran you 16:46 don't deserve a driver's license let 16:49 alone being president of the United 16:51 States he was thin skinned and easily 16:56 distracted it's not normal to spend $50 16:59 million in campaign contributions on 17:02 personal court cases it's not normal to 17:06 threaten people who back your opponent 17:08 Donald Trump is turning the Republican 17:10 Party into his own 17:13 playpen where it's all about him he's 17:16 not qualified to be the president of the 17:18 United 17:19 States I'll tell you I'll tell you 17:21 what's not normal either threatening 17:25 Civil 17:26 War if you lose an election now 17:30 previously Donald Trump who led an 17:32 Insurrection against the United States I 17:35 know that corporate media doesn't want 17:36 to cover that and they want to normalize 17:38 that behavior but today earlier today 17:42 there was a trump campaign event this is 17:44 an officially sponsored Trump event 17:47 where his vice president Shady JD Vance 17:51 was speaking and let me just share with 17:54 you what the first Speaker said a Maga 17:56 Republican George Lang who an Ohio state 18:00 senator who introduced JD Vance 18:03 threatened Civil War if Donald Trump 18:06 loses this election well let me show it 18:09 to you please welcome to the stage state 18:11 senator George 18:13 [Applause] 18:19 Lang fight fight fight fight 18:25 fight we got Time come on hey we are are 18:28 in the fight for the soul of our nation 18:33 we are in a fight for our kids and our 18:35 grandkids a fight that we can never 18:38 imagine I believe wholeheartedly Donald 18:41 Trump and Butler County's JD Vance are 18:43 the last chance to save our country 18:47 politically I'm afraid if we lose this 18:49 one it's going to take a civil war to 18:52 save the country and it will be 18:55 saved it's going to take a civil war to 18:59 save the country now you can say it it 19:03 would be disingenuous but you can say 19:05 hey Ben JD Vance didn't say that though 19:09 or Trump didn't say that it was at their 19:11 event they absolutely said it jdance 19:15 didn't take the stage and did what an 19:17 honorable person John McCain did where 19:20 if someone were to make a racist or 19:22 hateful statement McCain would take the 19:24 microphone away nope they went on with 19:27 the event business as usual threatening 19:31 Civil War and we'll see in the morning 19:33 if that becomes we know it won't be a 19:36 headline in corporate media because they 19:38 don't care about things like that 19:40 anymore um I wonder if it will even be a 19:42 story of any significance in any major 19:46 paper or any major media could you 19:48 imagine if in a democratic event they 19:52 threatened a civil war before 19:55 introducing the candidate just think 19:57 about that then but what about the new 19:59 tone that corporate media has been 20:00 telling us about from these Republicans 20:02 that new tone new tone no new tone Ben 20:05 come on come on they told this new tone 20:08 I think it's quite funny just as in 20:10 aside that uh the Republicans put all 20:13 this money into a convention and had all 20:17 this messaging at a convention which 20:19 ended up being directed at somebody who 20:21 is not running the election and then 20:24 after the fact now it's a whole new race 20:27 and they literally don't know what to do 20:29 and I think when we watch somebody like 20:31 that elected official um in in Ohio who 20:35 was speaking at the Trump campaign event 20:37 with JD Vance I think we see that 20:39 desperation coming through I think we 20:42 see them quite literally not knowing 20:45 what the heck to do how do we message it 20:48 so they are just going to the complete 20:50 and utter extremes of their rhetoric 20:54 they totally don't know what to do and 20:56 we'll go over in a little bit we'll go 20:57 over Donald Trump's statement because 20:59 Trump is freaking out Trump is still 21:01 attacking Biden I don't I'm not sure if 21:03 Trump realizes that the election is is 21:05 different now all the Trump kind of 21:07 campaign people their messaging is just 21:10 bizarre and weird and at that same event 21:12 this was JD Vance's message and I think 21:15 now like the contrast is more clear than 21:17 ever and the the Trump Vance ticket just 21:22 looks very almost old and outdated yes 21:25 JD Vance is young in numbers but his 21:27 ideas come off old and Bland and boring 21:31 you have at that same event this is JD 21:33 Vance's message to the audience and let 21:36 me know what you think of this super 21:38 awkward uh Jeb Bush like moment I'll 21:41 I'll call it it is the weirdest thing to 21:43 me Democrats say that it is racist to 21:46 believe well they say it's racist to do 21:48 anything I had a Diet Mountain Dew 21:51 yesterday and one today I'm sure they're 21:52 going to call that racist too 21:55 but it's good 22:01 I love you 22:04 guys it looks like Trump also picked a 22:06 guy whose hands are smaller than his 22:09 hands observation that I that I made 22:12 there but I think one of the criteria 22:14 may have been a hand measuring 22:16 competition there and Mr Personality 22:18 over there you guys think I know the 22:21 answer that he's like he thinks he's 22:22 crushing it up there like I am I'm going 22:24 to roll out this Mountain Dew thing and 22:27 they are going to love it and then he 22:28 says it and I knew it every speech JD 22:31 Vance gives feels 22:34 like I don't even want to offend high 22:36 school kids but do they feel like high 22:37 school campaign speeches they're just 22:40 not at the level I I'll say they are 22:42 simply not at the level and he is not 22:46 charismatic at all his ideas are very 22:49 dangerous he is incredibly boring and 22:52 I'm hearing that there's a lot of panic 22:54 right now at Trump HQ where they're 22:56 going uh oh we're stuck with this guy 22:58 right now like they are actually 23:00 panicked over their VP pick thinking 23:03 maybe they picked them a little too soon 23:05 now that the race has been upended and 23:07 that's going to be an interesting 23:08 dynamic as we see these internal 23:10 tensions between Trump and Vance kind of 23:13 butt up against each other and we know 23:16 the history of Donald Trump's uh 23:18 relationship we'll call it with his vice 23:20 presidents I can't believe and I know it 23:23 is but it's just so hard for to like 23:24 just watch corporate media and then not 23:26 bring up like oh what ever happened to 23:28 to Trump's previous vice president like 23:30 why does he need a new one not not once 23:32 like it didn't come up once at the RNC 23:34 it's it's it it infuriates 23:38 me Shady JD Shady JD that's A+ big bro 23:42 that's A+ I I remember the day when 23:46 former vice president Pence announced he 23:48 was not going to endorse Donald Trump it 23:50 was a blip I was expecting it you know 23:53 because we devoted significant coverage 23:55 for others to be like hey kind of a big 23:57 deal but no no corporate media is not 23:59 going to cover that Trump's top 52:43 surrogates are out there saying and one 52:45 of the top leaders of Trump's magga 52:48 movement saying so let's just show you a 52:50 few things that she's saying and I'm 52:51 gonna stop reading it after a while 52:53 because you'll get the point here she 52:55 goes did you know that Harris was once 52:57 an escort and that she got her career 52:59 started giving in another word she says 53:01 for oral sex to be successful to Rich 53:04 black men she sucked so and so's penis 53:07 while he was it's I can't 53:09 even it gets worse from there and then 53:11 she posts throughout the day we cannot 53:13 and should not accept a drug using 53:15 prostitute as our president she posts 53:17 KLA Harris isn't black um you know and 53:20 it's post like this over and over again 53:24 and it's sickening and just me even 53:26 having to read the words is is sickening 53:30 for me to have to even report on what it 53:32 is that she's saying but I think it's 53:34 important that you know what's going on 53:37 out there like that's what to me the 53:39 fourth estate 53:41 journalism we we should be doing is 53:43 calling that out and the fact that I'm 53:46 sure you probably haven't seen that 53:47 anywhere other than the mightest touch 53:49 Network I think is something that you 53:51 know what we you know what we shouldn't 53:52 do we shouldn't take just take people's 53:54 words for it and this is the Trap that 53:58 and I I don't even think it's a trap 53:59 because I think the media is in on it 54:01 but this is what these stations do all 54:03 the time and I think it was best 54:05 exemplified by the convention speech 54:08 that Donald Trump gave when we showed 54:10 last week that all of those various 54:13 newspapers ran headlines and stories 54:16 based on what Donald Trump told them he 54:18 was going to say at the event what 54:21 Donald Trump told them he was going to 54:23 say at the event ended up being much 54:25 different than what Donald Trump 54:26 actually said at the event yet instead 54:28 of waiting to hear his actual remarks at 54:31 the RNC convention which lasted what 90s 54:34 something minutes and we're rambling and 54:37 brought up Hannah Lector and all the 54:39 divisive stuff that we're all used to 54:42 end dangerous stuff that we're all used 54:43 to hearing from Donald Trump all of 54:46 these papers and a lot of these cable 54:47 news networks ran with this BS story of 54:51 he gave the unity speech it was all 54:53 about love and unity and coming together 54:56 when it's not reflective even a little 54:59 bit of the reality and so all we're 55:02 asking is let's instead of listening to 55:05 people who lie for a living who lie 55:08 quite literally every time they speak 55:10 let's actually look at what they are 55:12 doing let's look at what they are not 55:14 necessarily saying to you but what they 55:15 are saying to their base and their 55:17 followers and it's not exactly difficult 55:20 to check Donald Trump's accounts or see 55:22 what he's saying at his rallies or just 55:24 listening to him on a daily basis and 55:26 it's going to get worse like having vice 55:29 president Harris on the top of the 55:30 ticket is going to bring out the 55:32 misogyny the 55:35 racism 55:36 exponentially for all of the Trump 55:38 surrogates and for Donald Trump they are 55:41 simply not going to be able to control 55:43 themselves and my only Silver Lining is 55:46 that I hope that provides a contrast to 55:48 the American people who are so actively 55:51 repulsed by this Maga movement to 55:54 realize just how Despicable and how 55:57 disgusting these people are and how all 55:59 of their Outreach to all these various 56:01 communities whether it's their Outreach 56:02 to women or the black community are all 56:05 rooted in deception and lies and that is 56:08 the complete opposite of the way that 56:10 they actually behave and the policies 56:13 they actually want to implement the way 56:15 corporate media has been reporting on 56:17 this Brett is to your point exactly they 56:20 just take the Trump campaign at face 56:22 value which is like how how can you 56:23 continue to do that if you're not lazy 56:26 dishonest and worst worst of all 56:30 intentional you know that's why over the 56:32 course of these couple of weeks I think 56:33 the Midas touch network has grown 56:35 exponentially because people are so sick 56:37 of just being gaslit by corporate media 56:39 by seeing the Donald Trump RNC speech 56:42 and how crazy that was and then the next 56:45 day not even getting more than 10 56:46 minutes of coverage on it from name that 56:49 corporate Media Station CNN MSNBC and 56:51 them just continuing to talk you know 56:53 Biden at the time it's frustrating but 56:56 that's why I Rely so heavily on this 56:57 community here the mightest mighty this 56:59 pro-democracy community to continue to 57:01 point to point people towards the North 57:03 Star which is which is this which is 57:05 what we're trying to do here which just 57:07 be unapologetically pro-democracy and 57:09 just call the things out as we see them 57:11 because it's utter lunacy and so please 57:15 my my one thing my my major request here 57:17 to this community as we continue to go 57:19 forward I'm seeing a mass Exodus from 57:22 the corporate media stations you you 57:23 know who they are when people ask you 57:25 your friends your neighbors who are so 57:27 sick of being gaslit where to go Point 57:30 them here because this community is 57:32 welcoming and most importantly it's 57:34 honest so I appreciate everything that 57:36 you guys have done and we've seen it in 57:38 the numbers here so let's continue to 57:40 grow this as we Sprint through to be made right 57:53 now in the way I said it is ask where 57:55 your toilet paper was four years ago and 57:58 where your 401k is today Brett can you 58:01 give us some economic news right now if years ago it's not even 58:37 close it's why anytime any of these 58:39 people at the RNC these Republicans 58:41 tried to say are you better off than you 58:42 were four years ago and the crowd 58:44 chanted yes uh probably a self- 58:46 selecting sample because there are far 58:48 too many people who are not here today 58:51 due to the actions of Donald Trump uh to 58:53 completely mismanage this pandemic um 58:56 now let's actually talk about some of 58:58 the data because the economy is roaring 59:01 and remember vice president Harris one 59:02 of her advantages right now also is she 59:05 gets to run on all the accomplishments 59:06 of the Biden Harris Administration and I 59:08 would say these are certainly 59:10 accomplishments as we look at the 59:12 progress that have been made especially 59:14 on inflation where America has led the 59:17 world in lower inflation comparatively 59:20 to other nations like inflation is a 59:23 global issue as we all know the US 59:25 manager it quite literally the best of 59:28 any other nation and we can look to the 59:30 data consumer prices fell in June for 59:32 the first time since the early months of 59:35 the pandemic that's since about May 2020 59:38 decreasing by 0.1% on a monthly basis 59:41 that helped reduce the annual inflation 59:42 rate from uh from to 3% from 3.3% in May 59:47 and this was also as we always see every 59:50 single month and all these reports are 59:51 contrary to the economist's expectations 59:55 who thought that it was going to uh 59:57 increase by a little bit inflation is 59:59 now the lowest that it has been in over 1:00:01 three years the Goldman Sachs core 1:00:03 inflation tracker is now below 2% that 1:00:06 2% number is a key indicator for the FED 1:00:09 falling below 2% seeing that we're not 1:00:12 only having no inflation month-to month 1:00:15 now but that inflation is decreasing 1:00:16 these are all signs that uh there could 1:00:20 be an upcoming Federal Reserve rate cut 1:00:22 and many now are expecting that a rate 1:00:24 cut is going to come this SE September 1:00:26 and as we see all these government 1:00:28 changes it's it's worth reminding you 1:00:29 that our infrastructure president uh the guy who 1:03:10 passed the most comprehensive 1:03:12 infrastructure bill that we have seen in 1:03:14 this country in 1:03:16 decades how much it lines up that he is 1:03:19 now the figurative bridge to the Next 1:03:23 Generation passing the Baton to Harris 1:03:26 to run there was also another political 1:03:28 cartoon I saw going around that um I 1:03:30 think is worth sharing with you it's has 1:03:33 to do with the that famous uh Obama hope 1:03:35 photo that we've all seen that was 1:03:38 popularized during the Obama campaign it 1:03:40 has Obama with hope in that style that 1:03:42 shepher fairy style it has Trump where 1:03:45 it says hate it has Biden heel and kamla 1:03:49 Harris grow I thought this was just very 1:03:52 powerful um very powerful images very 1:03:54 powerful kind of Pol art uh that you 1:03:57 know is worth sharing and I'm sure you 1:03:58 know a lot of you might want to like 1:03:59 screenshot and and continue to share 1:04:01 these out because I think the messaging 1:04:03 is quite 1:04:04 powerful well look as vice president 1:04:06 Harris now the presumptive Democratic 1:04:08 nominee said it has been a roller 1:04:10 coaster and well I remember I was 1:04:12 speaking to Jordy on the phone this 1:04:13 weekend when President Biden made the 1:04:15 announcement and Jordan and I were just 1:04:17 talking about our days and Jordy said 1:04:19 you you know it just happened and I 1:04:21 remember it very very vividly and um my 1:04:24 initial reaction action was kind of 1:04:27 sadness and and anger and I was and I 1:04:30 was upset and and I you know I walked 1:04:34 around the block for about you know 20 1:04:36 30 minutes before reporting on it and my 1:04:39 first report you know and this was 1:04:41 before we President Biden endorsed kamla 1:04:44 Harris there was so much uncertainty you 1:04:47 know it was just kind of you know 1:04:48 sadness and I just I just did the the 1:04:51 the straight reporting like here's what 1:04:53 happened here's the letter here's what 1:04:54 was said but you could tell if you watch 1:04:56 that video that I was sad um you know 1:05:00 and then as the day progressed you know 1:05:03 my emotions also really went towards I 1:05:08 think a duty that we have to our 1:05:11 democracy and then recognizing that vice 1:05:14 president kamla Harris is made for this 1:05:16 moment she's a perfect candidate for 1:05:19 this moment and there is so much 1:05:22 momentum and so much energy and the 1:05:26 handoff so selfless by President Biden 1:05:29 the symbolism around it the contrast 1:05:32 with Donald Trump the contrast between 1:05:35 the parties really energized me in a way 1:05:40 that I really haven't been energized in 1:05:43 in in recent memory and so the emotion 1:05:46 shifted you know over time to Hope and 1:05:51 excitement and that we're in this 1:05:53 together um and so that's the moment 1:05:56 that we find ourselves in there and you 1:05:58 may have um found that you've kind of 1:06:01 went through those emotions as as well 1:06:04 and so I just wanted to share with you 1:06:05 my my experience you know as well and I 1:06:09 think there are some lessons that have 1:06:11 to be learned as well it's also got to 1:06:12 be about rebuilding this media Zeitgeist 1:06:16 with the failures that we saw and the
