best scientists she would have been transparent we would have started with the vaccines then public education would have started right away and I just think it would be an entirely different entirely different situation so when people are always like oh well the economy was doing it was we shouldn't factor in the last year or let's factor in the pre pandemic can't factor in the last year you get a Trump was like trying to appeal to hillbilly so they brought him on in the 18:26 media to be like look this is this is 18:29 the path that a hillbilly can take you 18:31 know and then he would go on there and 18:33 just speak in all these stereotypes 18:35 about people from Appalachia and he 18:37 would say well you know here in 18:38 Appalachia and people from Appalachia 18:40 like who are you you're not even from 18:42 here you fraud so and he made his whole 18:45 initial career and sold books lying that 18:48 he's from Appalachia like the guy quite 18:50 literally venture capitalist for about her 39:14 support for same-sex marriage uh 39:17 something that you could see clips of 39:19 her going way back to her time working 39:21 in California ensuring that same sex 39:24 couples have these fundamental freedoms 39:26 and she was speaking about her record as 39:28 well with the teachers today all the 39:30 while these extremists also attack the 39:34 freedom to love who you love openly and 39:36 with 39:42 pride they passed so-called don't say 39:46 gay 39:47 laws now I have to tell you so many of 39:50 you may 39:51 know in 2004 on Valentine's Day weekend 39:57 I was one of teachers 40:20 in their 40:22 20s who are afraid to put up a 40:25 photograph of themselves and their part 40:27 part for fear they could lose their 40:29 job and what is their job the most noble even very good 53:14 complaining about kamla Harris her crowd 53:17 size and that he actually gets bigger 53:19 crowds than Cala Harris and that the 53:22 media is fawning over her how dare they 53:24 how was that making the lives of any 53:26 better once again it's weird it's weird 53:29 weird weird and here's that moment and 53:31 he's bragging about Hulk Hogan and and 53:33 and just just watch no they're great 53:36 they're great people and we had a great 53:38 convention we had a great convention we 53:40 had a convention that broke all 53:42 television 53:44 rating how good was the hookster right 53:48 oh and Kid Rock called he wanted to be a 53:51 part he was fantastic but they were all 53:54 fantastic it was the greatest it was 53:55 just a flaw this convention it was great 53:57 and uh the television ratings were 54:00 record setting ratings record you all 54:03 read 54:05 that they were record setting ratings 54:08 and 54:09 uh okay they weren't and Brett to your 54:11 point how is that going to be helping 54:14 anybody who is there and that's the 54:17 thing about the people who were there as 54:19 well you know they're so brainwashed 54:21 with the hate that's spewed on 54:22 right-wing media that what policies are 54:26 being discussed that's going to help 54:27 them because I bet if you were to ask 54:30 most of those people in the audience 54:31 there are you a millionaire are you a 54:34 decamillionaire are you a 54:36 billionaire um and I would guarantee you 54:39 that you'll probably not get other than 54:41 the people who Donald Trump personally 54:42 invited I doubt you're gonna have a lot 54:44 of decamillionaires and billionaires you 54:46 know who are there so how is Donald 54:50 Trump's plans and proposals going to 54:52 help those people whereas President 54:54 Biden and kamla Harris have a bottom out 54:57 middle up approach with 40,000 54:59 infrastructure now maybe 50,000 55:01 infrastructure projects um leading to a 55:04 manufacturing boom that's actually 55:06 helping Revitalize communities whereas 55:09 President Biden and vice president kamla 55:11 Harris support not just a minimum wage 55:13 but a living wage they support unions 55:16 they support um leave when people have 55:19 children they um want to lower the costs 55:21 of Health Care the cost of insulin's 55:23 been capped um you Medicare the 55:27 government negotiate now resulting in 55:30 lower costs for prescription drugs 55:32 across the board I mean if you go 55:34 through issue by issue the Biden Harris 55:37 Administration have policies that help 55:39 the people but the media corporate media 55:42 has turned all of this into such a 55:44 circus that we can't even talk about 55:46 issues and things but I think President 55:48 Biden passing the torch has allowed the 55:51 conversation now to shift in a way that 55:54 it wouldn't have not not because the 55:56 President Biden's fault it's because of 55:58 how this coverage is but compare what 56:00 Trump just said here's what President 56:01 Biden said about his record as a 56:04 president using objective criteria here 56:06 play this clip when you elected me to 56:08 this 56:09 office I promise to always level with 56:12 you to tell you the 56:15 truth and the truth the sacred cause of 56:18 this country is larger than any one of 56:20 us and those of us who Cherry that cause 56:24 cherish it so much the cause of American 56:27 democracy itself must unite to protect 56:31 it you know in recent weeks it's become 56:34 clear to me that I need to unite my 56:36 party in this critical Endeavor I 56:40 believe my record as president my 56:43 leadership in the world my vision for 56:46 America's 56:47 future all merited a second term but 56:51 nothing nothing can come in the way of 56:54 saving our democracy 56:56 that includes personal 56:58 ambition so I've decided the best way 57:01 forward is to pass the torch to a new 57:04 generation that's the best way to unite 57:06 our 57:08 nation you know there is a time and a 57:10 place for long years of experience in 57:13 public life there's also a time and a 57:15 place for new voices fresh voices yes 57:19 younger 57:20 voices and that time and place is 57:24 now could you 57:26 imagine Donald Trump or almost any other 57:29 politician saying that you have the 57:31 highest off but you could have never 57:33 with Donald Trump but with President 57:35 Biden you're have the Pinnacle of your 57:36 career the highest office in the land 57:39 your record speaks for itself over the 57:42 past three and a half possibly longer 57:44 now years what you've been able to 57:47 achieve Rivals any other presidency it 57:49 maybe one of the most successful not 57:51 like the most successful presidency in 57:54 history and I know you have corporate 57:56 media that both sides and a propaganda 57:58 media that tells a very different story 58:00 but if you look at all the objective 58:02 data that was always used this is a very 58:04 successful presidency one of the lines 58:07 that I often say is ask yourself where 58:09 your toilet paper was four years ago 58:11 under Donald Trump and ask where your 58:14 401k is right now you could use that uh 58:18 in other areas too with Donald Trump 58:20 which could be also ask you know about 58:23 the manufacturing boom right now ask 58:26 where you know Don where Donald Trump's 58:28 health care plan was that he promised 58:30 where was his infrastructure plan that 58:32 he promised that he would roll out he's 58:34 a fraud JD Vance is a fraud but take a 58:37 look at the results in our economy right 58:39 now strong growth in the second quarter 58:41 US economy grew at a 2.8% pace in 58:44 quarter 2 2024 it's way above 58:47 expectations of 1.9% a big jump from 58:50 1.4% in q1 consumer spending was the key 58:54 here up 2.3% in the quarter way above 58:57 expectations again under President Biden 58:59 and vice president KLA Harris we have 59:01 the strongest economy in the 59:04 world business investment is up more 59:07 than 5% nearly 16 million new jobs have 59:11 been created unemployment near 4% for 59:13 the longest stretch in 50 years wages 59:16 are up higher than before the pandemic 59:18 and inflation is down to 3% even with 59:21 the pandemic that is Donald Trump's 59:23 fault for the way he mishandled it um 59:26 currently the economy is growing faster 59:29 than even all of the prepandemic 59:32 projections thanks to President Biden 59:34 and KLA Harris have steered this economy 59:37 and Brett one of the topics that we talk 59:38 about a lot and it is important that we 59:41 focus on and I hope people are enjoying 59:43 that we are focusing on this because 59:45 lots of people have been asking us to 59:47 focus on this and this is climate change 59:49 and the difference between vice 59:51 president KLA Harris and Donald Trump 59:53 could not be more Stark Donald Trump 59:55 doesn't believe in climate climate 59:56 change Donald Trump says if anything 59:58 it's a good thing because it creates 1:00:00 more beachfront property and Donald 1:00:03 Trump says it's fake and it's a hoax 1:00:05 okay vice president kamla Harris takes 1:00:07 it seriously she has her entire career 1:00:10 Brett give us a climate change update 1:00:11 yeah and before I even get into vice 1:00:13 president kamla Harris and and her role 1:00:16 in uh helping the climate um I want to 1:00:19 First just preface this with a clip from 1:00:22 Donald Trump these are statements he 1:00:23 made just days ago sitting alongside 1:00:26 Shay D Vance on Fox talking about wind 1:00:29 you know this do you know we need twice 1:00:32 as much electricity as we currently have 1:00:34 in our country for AI but the 1:00:36 environmentalists won't let you produce 1:00:38 it they want wind the wind is BL it 1:00:41 blowing today the whole thing it's the 1:00:43 most expensive hoax in the world the 1:00:46 wind it kills our 1:00:49 Birds I have something to tell you 1:00:51 climate change is not a hoax climate 1:00:53 change is real and it is our pleasure to 1:00:56 be able to highlight the efforts that 1:00:58 kamla Harris and the Biden Harris 1:00:59 Administration has made regarding our 1:01:02 climate and the Stark differences uh 1:01:05 between them and Donald Trump who as you 1:01:07 just heard calls it a hoax says that 1:01:09 when the wind stops energy like the guy 1:01:12 the guy's a weird idiot as we said but 1:01:14 there was this incredible thread online 1:01:17 um that I want to share with you all 1:01:19 because it goes through kamla Harris's 1:01:21 history of accomplishments on climate 1:01:24 briefly and so I wanted to take a moment 1:01:26 on this episode here to go through them 1:01:29 uh this was compiled by Leah C Stokes 1:01:32 she is a professor of climate and energy 1:01:35 policy at the University of Santa 1:01:38 Barbara and she outlined vice president 1:01:40 kamla Harris's long record on climate 1:01:43 change and environmental justice and by 1:01:46 the way I could speak from personal 1:01:47 experience when I had the opportunity to 1:01:50 meet vice president kamla Harris not too 1:01:52 long ago just a few months ago climate 1:01:55 change and environmental justice were 1:01:57 things that kept coming out of her mouth 1:01:59 she kept speaking about these two topics 1:02:02 I could tell they were very important to 1:02:03 her when you look at her record it shows 1:02:05 so you go back to 2005 then District 1:02:08 Attorney kamla Harris in California set 1:02:11 up a brand new division there to 1:02:14 prosecute environmental crimes in 1:02:16 California I want to remind you 2005 1:02:19 that's two decades ago here was a quote 1:02:22 from her then she said quote crimes 1:02:24 against the en IR are crimes against 1:02:28 communities which as Leah Stokes notes 1:02:31 that's as true today as it was then 1:02:34 Harris's vision for climate action and 1:02:37 environmental justice is deeply embedded 1:02:39 in our climate laws Green Bank she 1:02:43 co-sponsored that as a senator cleaning 1:02:45 up pollutions from porch she did that as 1:02:46 attorney general in 2011 in LA and Long 1:02:49 Beach and her influence one of the 1:02:52 incredible things about this passing of 1:02:53 the torch moment that we're seeing is 1:02:56 her influence is all over all of these 1:02:59 Biden Harris policies that we have 1:03:01 talked about for so long on this show 1:03:03 and that finally the Biden Harris 1:03:06 Administration is getting credit for 1:03:08 like the inflation reduction act which 1:03:10 is Perhaps it is the biggest uh 1:03:14 legislation for climate that we have 1:03:17 seen in American history and so as a 1:03:21 senator then as vice president uh KLA 1:03:24 Harris Champion clean School buses she 1:03:26 secured $5 billion for that effort so 1:03:29 thanks to the vice president 200,000 1:03:32 kids now every single day are riding to 1:03:35 and from school on clean electric buses 1:03:38 as a senator Harris also authored 1:03:41 legislation to replace lead pipes if as 1:03:44 you know from listening to our show the 1:03:46 replacing of lead pipes is something 1:03:48 that is currently happening under the 1:03:50 Biden Harris Administration thanks to 1:03:52 the inflation reduction act they have 1:03:54 $15 billion 1:03:56 right now being spent on this effort to 1:03:58 replace lead pipes I mean how you 1:04:01 against replacing lead pipes Trump is 1:04:03 against replacing lead pipes it's the 1:04:05 CRA it's the craziest craziest thing the 1:04:08 Biden Harris Administration is on track 1:04:11 to replace 1.7 million lead pipes across 1:04:14 the country and I want to remind you 1:04:16 know of course it has an incredible 1:04:17 impact on the country which is important 1:04:20 which is existential quite frankly to 1:04:23 get our climate under control and to fix 1:04:24 these things I mean people's lives are 1:04:26 on the line if they're drinking water 1:04:28 from lead pipes but this is also very 1:04:30 important topics that voters want to 1:04:32 hear about and that voters have felt 1:04:34 like they' have been ignored for so long 1:04:37 and all these policies are finally being 1:04:38 implemented and are being championed by 1:04:40 kamla Harris so we see now gen Z this is 1:04:44 a topic that gen Z is all over over half 1:04:47 of young voters say the issue of climate 1:04:49 change is very important to them 1:04:51 personally 36% say it's one of their top 1:04:54 issues that is going to matter most to 1:04:56 them when they step into the polls this 1:04:59 year despite their kind of gloomy 1:05:01 Outlook that they've had this whole idea 1:05:04 that we are transitioning to clean 1:05:05 energy and the efforts of the 1:05:07 administration have provided them with 1:05:09 the optimism that things are not going 1:05:12 to be a disaster for them in the future 1:05:14 and we see that 57% of young people feel 1:05:17 worried about the future for their 1:05:19 generation so it appears now finally 1:05:22 kamla Harris is providing gen Z and 1:05:24 frankly all Americans with this much 1:05:27 needed feeling of hope that is finally 1:05:29 washing over all of us so I think these 1:05:32 are important things to be noting we got 1:05:34 to be talking about climate constantly 1:05:36 we have to be talking about 1:05:37 environmental justice and the same way 1:05:39 that we've been talking about the 1:05:40 economy and the successes of the economy 1:05:42 and it finally took all of this time and 1:05:45 it took Biden dropping out of the race 1:05:47 in order for the media to finally run 1:05:49 headlines like the CNN Headline that 1:05:51 we've been showing throughout this 1:05:52 episode the quote the US economy is 1:05:55 pulling pulling off something historic 1:05:57 hopefully we begin to see the same sort 1:05:59 of headlines in the mainstream press 1:06:01 about these efforts for the clim that's 1:06:03 why we got to stay laser focused we need 1:06:06 to keep pushing we need to keep getting 1:06:07 these messages out there and that's why 1:06:10 this is so important that's why you all 1:06:12 are so important in getting these clips 1:06:14 out there and
