is near the biggest news by far was that just last week Russian missiles attacked a cargo ship that had just left the Ukrainian territorial Waters a civilian cargo ship no less but something important that this tweet doesn't mention was the fact that that ship was in NATO water when Russia attacked it as you can see from this tweet the ship was in Romania's Maritime economic Waters Romania is a NATO member and that means the ship was attacked in NATO waters on top of that the ship was from Turkey another NATO member that means Russia attacked the NATO ship in NATO water and a civilian ship no less now luckily for Putin this does not automatically trigger Article 5 of the NATO treaty the 1:01 main reason behind it is because the attack happen in economic Waters not the territorial Waters according to the United Nations convention on the law of sea a nation's territorial Waters extend 12 nautical miles from its Coastline while its exclusive economic zone e extends up to 200 nautical miles from its Coastline in simple terms everything up until the 12 nautical mile is basically part of of the country but from 12 nautical miles to 200 nautical miles the water is considered international waters but everything under the water is country's Sovereign right AKA they can exploit that for their economic benefits this could include oil fishery and much more if an attack takes place in a country's territorial water it should trigger the Article 5 if the country is part of NATO now I say should because of course there are exceptions meaning if the attack was a pure mistake 2:00 it's unlikely that article 5 would be triggered and it would be easy to believe that this was a mistake if this was an isolated incident but in fact just in the last month Russia has sent multiple drones into NATO airspace and now this happens and on top of that Russia has been sending missiles through the NATO airspace to attack Ukraine clearly one of these could have been a mistake but all of them combined it doesn't really seem like an accident it's like the great philosopher J Cole once said full me one time shame on you fool me twice can't put the blame on you fool me three times okay I'm not a rapper but it's kind of obvious what Putin's trying to do he's trying to get a reaction out of NATO just to see how they react and what they do maybe it's out of pure Curiosity on part of Putin or maybe he's planning something big no one knows and of course we cannot blame NATO for not reacting so far because they don't want to escalate the war over something minor as drone in fractions of airspaces but it seems like the attacks 3:01 have been getting bigger and closer and 3:03 closer to Nato territory and NATO 3:05 civilians so there's going to come a 3:07 point where NATO may have to send out a 3:09 message this could be a Stern warning or 3:12 could be something bigger maybe maybe it 3:14 could be giving Ukraine permission to 3:16 strike inside Russia now that's 3:18 something that's been scaring Putin just 3:21 last week he put out what seems like a 3:23 fake press conference where he answered 3:25 one question that question was what 3:28 would Russia do if the West gives 3:30 Ukraine permission to use Western 3:32 missiles to strike inside Russia let's 3:34 listen to that real quick what we are 3:36 seeing is an attempt to substitute 3:38 Notions because this is not a question 3:40 of whether the KF regime is allowed or 3:43 not allowed to strike Targets on Russian 3:45 territory it is already carrying out 3:47 strikes using unmanned aerial vehicles 3:49 and other means but using Western made 3:52 long-range Precision weapons is a 3:53 completely different story the fact is 3:56 that I have mentioned this and any 3:57 expert both in our country and in the 3:59 West will confirm this the Ukrainian 4:02 Army is not capable of using cuttingedge 4:04 High Precision longrange systems 4:05 supplied by the West they cannot do that 4:08 these weapons are impossible to employ 4:10 without intelligence data from 4:12 satellites which Ukraine does not have 4:14 this can only be done using the European 4:16 Union satellites or us satellites in 4:19 general NATO satellites this is the 4:21 first point the second Point perhaps the 4:24 most important the key Point even is 4:26 that only NATO military personnel can 4:28 assign flight missions to these missile 4:30 systems Ukrainian servicemen cannot do 4:33 this therefore it is not a question of 4:35 allowing the Ukrainian regime to strike 4:37 Russia with these weapons or not it is 4:39 about deciding whether NATO countries 4:41 become directly involved in the military 4:43 conflict or not if this decision is made 4:46 it will mean nothing short of direct 4:48 involvement it will mean that NATO 4:51 countries the United States and European 4:53 countries are parties to the war in 4:56 Ukraine this will mean their direct 4:58 involvement in the conflict and it will 5:00 clearly change the very essence the very 5:03 nature of the conflict dramatically this 5:05 will mean that NATO countries the United 5:08 States and European countries are at war 5:10 with Russia and if this is the case then 5:13 bearing in mind the change in the 5:14 essence of the conflict we will make 5:16 appropriate decisions in response to the 5:18 threats that will be posed to us all 5:20 right let me think where to start cuz 5:23 the argument kind of falls apart on its 5:25 own because just last week Putin was 5:28 telling Russian people that the K 5:30 invasion is not a big deal because at 5:32 the end of the day ksk is just like 5:34 donbas Crimea and dones it's all part of 5:37 Russia and Russian forces have been 5:39 fighting Ukraine in all these places so 5:42 it's really not a big deal that 5:43 ukrainians are now in Cur too but if we 5:47 apply that same logic that Putin is 5:49 telling his own citizens wouldn't that 5:51 mean that NATO weapons are already being 5:54 used on Russia and the second part of 5:56 the argument where he says that 5:58 ukrainians are not able or capable of 6:01 using these Western weapons because 6:03 they're so high tech this is the 6:04 argument that Russians have been using 6:06 for a while now they refuse to believe 6:09 or I guess they refuse to accept that 6:11 Ukraine now has its own defense industry 6:14 here's a Russian post that's crying 6:16 about all the Ukrainian weapons that's 6:18 striking inside Russia the drones and 6:20 the missiles the post just goes on to 6:23 claim that Ukraine is not producing any 6:26 of the stuff locally the West is 6:28 basically giving all these weapons to 6:30 Ukraine without any labels on them and 6:32 Ukraine is just slapping on Ma in 6:34 Ukraine label and using all these 6:36 weapons to strike inside Russia the 6:38 caption on the Tweet explains it way 6:40 better than I could the cope is off the 6:44 charts anyways moving on you know a 6:47 country is winning a war when they start 6:49 giving ultimatums about nuclear 6:51 weapons and just to remind everyone this 6:54 is not Putin's first red line I think in 6:57 this war alone he has had like 20 of 6:59 them and all of them came with the 7:01 warning that if you cross this red line 7:03 the nukes will come out 7:05 flying every single time that one of 7:09 Putin's red lines have been crossed and 7:12 many have been crossed you know 7:14 sanctions were a red line um the UK and 7:17 the US providing very um crucial 7:20 anti-tank missiles in the very early 7:22 days were a red line certainly battle 7:25 tanks were a red line and the Brits 7:27 broke that um um the um the Brits broke 7:31 that with the um supply of Challengers 7:34 back at the beginning of last year the 7:36 very supply of long range artillery 7:39 again the Brits broke that with the 7:41 supply of Storm Shadow last summer so 7:44 every single time the you know the one 7:47 thing if in if Russia was invaded this 7:50 allows them to use nuclear weapons 7:53 within their nuclear Doctrine well a 7:55 month ago um Ukraine has very 7:58 effectively invaded part of Russia and 8:02 brought the war to Russia now of course 8:05 Putin's never going to use the nukes on 8:07 the west cuz at the end of the day even 8:09 he knows that NATO has nukes too so 8:12 doesn't matter how expensive his Palace 8:14 is he's not protected in there if he 8:16 uses nukes here's Michael clog 8:19 explaining the same exact thing when 8:21 people think that um you know that that 8:23 somehow were vulnerable remember that 8:25 those people in the Kremlin also know 8:27 and this is this may be an inconvenient 8:28 fact and I don't like it either but the 8:30 fact is you know we have an independent 8:32 nuclear deterrent submarine um always 8:35 under the North Atlantic 24 hours a day 8:37 365 days of the year if the Prime 8:40 Minister gave the order whether it's in 8:41 Washington or in London or in workington 8:44 or in Doncaster or in Sterling if he 8:46 gave the order then that that submarine 8:49 would fire its missiles 55 minutes after 8:51 he gives the order and Moscow will be 8:53 destroyed full stop no question that's 8:55 the technical reality now you can argue 8:58 about whether that's a good or a bad 8:59 thing but that is where we are that is 9:00 what that is the situation so those on 9:03 TV in in Russia who make lots of blood 9:05 curdling threats about nuclear use 9:07 against Britain um need to think about 9:10 the fact that we do have an an 9:11 independent nuclear deterrent like it or 9:13 not it's there also let's look at the 9:15 big picture here Putin is saying that if 9:18 Western weapons are allowed to be used 9:20 inside Russia NATO will be at war with 9:23 Russia now can Russia really afford a 9:27 war with NATO right now they throwing 9:29 pretty much everything they have the 9:32 whole economy has been restructured to 9:34 become a war economy that's growing 9:36 around 3% per year and even with all 9:40 that they have barely made any progress 9:43 in the last year in Ukraine Ukraine 9:46 which had an economy of one10 of Russia 9:49 and Military that's multiple times 9:51 smaller and it's fighting with what we 9:53 can roughly estimate around 1% of NATO's 9:56 military expenditure it's getting all 9:59 the old weapons the old Jets the old 10:01 missiles that would have likely been 10:03 replaced in the next decade with just 10:06 that Russia is struggling against 10:08 Ukraine now of course Wars are 10:12 unpredictable and that's the big reason 10:14 why NATO hasn't been responding to all 10:16 the drones that Russia accidentally 10:19 sends into NATO airspace but let's say 10:23 if there is a war which let's hope 10:25 there's not is it realistic that Russia 10:28 is going to win against against NATO is 10:30 it realistic that Putin is going to 10:32 survive that war as the head of Russia 10:34 here's John balron the former US 10:37 National Security adviser explaining 10:39 this point in more 10:41 detail on the conventional side uh where 10:44 is the Russian army that's going to 10:46 fight a wider war and by the way if 10:49 they've got an army that can do that why 10:51 isn't in Ukraine now a making up for 10:53 their pitiful performance over the past 10:56 two and a half years I I don't think 10:57 Putin has the capabil 11:00 over a year and a half ago the Biden 11:02 Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said 11:04 the Russians were feeding their army 11:06 into a wood CH chipper and it's just 11:09 continued since then second on the 11:12 threat of a potential use of nuclear 11:14 weapons we've had testimony an open 11:16 session of Congress from the 11:19 intelligence community that said 11:20 whenever Putin has rattled the nuclear 11:22 saber there's been zero evidence that 11:25 any nuclear forces have redeployed or 11:28 moved into a higher state of alert I 11:30 think Putin's been bluffing and we've 11:32 fallen for the bluff if if you're if 11:34 you're worried about what Putin said uh 11:38 then then and and we react accordingly 11:40 you're going to give him what we what he 11:43 wants uh at absolutely no cost to him my 11:46 my response to Putin's remark as to 11:48 earlier threats involving nuclear 11:51 weapons is to say to him privately and 11:53 publicly if Russia uses a nuclear weapon 11:57 in Ukraine uh Vladimir Putin has signed 12:00 his personal death warrant hopefully that will have a deterrent effect Putin knows that if Ukraine gets permission to use Western weapons to strike inside Russia the war will be brought to Russian people the Russian people will realize what's been going on on the front lines and Russian people will find out the truth about how the Russian military is performing and that's something Putin cannot afford especially when the economy is struggling the people are unemployed and the smartest of the smartest the brightest Russians are leaving the country that's exactly why he's throwing everything he got with this ultimatum he doesn't want West to give permission to Ukraine to strike inside Russia and he's using everything up his sleeve to make sure that
