- Boeing 777x program is in serious
- trouble delays technical failures and
- mounting frustration from Airlines have
- put the program on thin ice with the
- 777x now over 5 years behind schedule
- could this be the perfect moment for
- Airbus to strike back in today's video
- we'll dive into why Airbus should seize
- this opportunity and build the a350 2000
- a stretched version of the A3 350 to
- rival Boeing struggling
- 777x stay tuned as we explore how Airbus
- could completely change the game in
- widebody
- aviation Boeing 777x was supposed to be
- the Crown Jewel of the aviation world
- with unmatched fuel efficiency extended
- range and the ability to carry more
- passengers it was designed to dominate
- The Long Haul travel Market initially
- set to enter commercial service in 2020
- the 7 77x seemed to be a no-brainer for
- 1:02
- Airlines struggling with Rising fuel
- costs and increasing pressure to reduce
- carbon emissions but what started as a
- promising project quickly turned into a
- nightmare problems with the engines
- structural failures during stress tests
- and delays have plagued the program for
- years most recently a critical issue was
- discovered where the engine attaches to
- the wing a flaw so severe that it forced
- Boeing to Halt all test flights of the
- 777x the issue lies with a crucial
- structural component called the thrust
- linkage which transmits the engine's
- power to the airframe this part broke
- during testing a failure that could
- compromise the entire aircraft stability
- on Long Haul flights Boeing is now
- racing to redesign the faulty component
- but this is no simple fix what's even
- worse this redesign comes at a massive
- cost both in time and money Boeing's
- 2:01
- Target to release the 777x by 2025 is
- now in serious Jeopardy and the patience
- of major customers like Qatar Airways
- and emiris is wearing thin and this is
- where Airbus comes into the picture
- Boeing's troubles are creating the
- perfect storm for Airbus to swoop in
- with their own solution the A35 2000 a
- stretched version of the already
- successful a 351000
- the a350 is more modern more efficient
- and has a proven track record of
- reliability all qualities that airlines
- are now looking for with the a350 2000
- Airbus could offer a direct competitor
- to the
- 777x but without the technical headaches
- Boeing is facing in fact Airbus could
- add about 4 m to the a350s fuselage
- giving Airlines an extra 40 seats in
- economy this move could be a game Cher a
- allowing Airbus to capture market share
- 3:02
- from frustrated 777x customers the true
- Brilliance of the a350 2000 concept lies
- in its Simplicity rather than designing
- an entirely new aircraft from the ground
- up Airbus can build on the strong
- foundation of the a 351,000 which is
- already a proven and successful platform
- the concept revolves around a strategic
- stretch of the a 351000 fuselage
- potentially adding around 4 m in length
- this extension would allow Airbus to
- increase the seating capacity by about
- 40 seats in the economy class without
- requiring a complete redesign the key
- Advantage here is that major structural
- components like the wings landing gear
- and even most of the avionics would
- remain largely untouched these elements
- have already been optimized for Long
- Haul efficiency so there's no need to
- spend years re engineering them by
- 4:01
- keeping these vital components in place
- Airbus can sidestep the timeconsuming
- and costly process of redesigning and
- recertifying the aircraft's most complex
- systems this also ensures continuity in
- performance and safety as the a 351000
- airframe is already proven to be
- reliable and efficient in commercial
- operations this streamlined approach
- would allow Airbus to get the a350 2000
- into service significantly faster than
- Boeing can fix the ongoing issues with
- the
- 777x Boeing has faced continuous
- setbacks with the 777x from engine
- problems to structural failures pushing
- its entry into service even further into
- the future meanwhile Airbus with its
- more mature and stable a350 platform
- could leap ahead by rolling out the a350
- 2000 in a much shorter time frame this
- would not only give Airbus a huge
- 5:00
- Competitive Edge in the widebody market
- but also offer Airlines an immediate
- solution for their Long Haul needs while
- Boeing continues to struggle and here's
- the best part Airbus already has the
- resources and infrastructure to make
- this happen the company has been
- steadily working on multiple major
- projects that align perfectly with the
- timeline needed for an a350 2000 the
- a321 XLR which is nearing the end of its
- FL testing phase has required extensive
- engineering expertise but as that
- program winds down Airbus will have the
- capacity to redirect its top Engineers
- to a new Endeavor additionally Airbus
- has the a350 freighter in development
- further demonstrating that the company
- has the expertise and momentum to manage
- multiple projects simultaneously this
- freighter variant of the a350 shares
- much of the same DNA as the passenger
- model meaning that any Lessons Learned
- 6:01
- or Innovations made during the freighter
- development can be directly applied to
- the a350 2000 with these projects
- nearing completion airbus's engineering
- teams are in an ideal position to take
- on the development of the stretched a350
- without being stretched too thin unlike
- Boeing which is bogged down by the
- delays and complications of its 777x
- program Airbus is in a strong position
- with a wellestablished Workforce and a
- streamlined production process this
- gives the European Aerospace giant a
- clear Head Start in the race to deliver
- the next generation of widebody aircraft
- the only real challenge Airbus faces in
- building the a350 2000 is the engine the
- a350 is powered by rolls-royce's Trent
- xwb which while incredibly efficient has
- a relatively modest fan diameter
- compared to Boeing's ge9x
- while this hasn't been a problem for the
- 7:02
- a351 it could be a limiting factor for
- the larger A35
- 2000 however Rolls-Royce is already
- working on upgrading the xwb platform by
- implementing Technologies from its Ultra
- fan demonstrator these advancements
- could help Rolls-Royce squeeze more
- Thrust out of the engine making the a350
- 2000 not just feasible but highly
- competitive even without a perfect
- engine Airbus still has the the upper
- hand thanks to its lightweight composite
- structure the a350 platform is
- significantly more efficient than the
- 777x estimates suggest that the A35 2000
- could offer Airlines up to 10% lower
- trip costs and 5% lower seat mile costs
- compared to the
- 777x a crucial Advantage for Airlines
- looking to cut costs in the
- post-pandemic world so the case for
- building the A35 2000 is clear Airbus
- 8:01
- would face relatively low development
- costs and the aircraft would enter the
- market just as Boeing continues to
- struggle with the 777 X's setbacks this
- could be the golden opportunity Airbus
- has been waiting for so what's Airbus
- waiting for well the company is likely
- waiting to see how Airlines respond to
- the a350 1000's recent cabin upgrades
- particularly the shift towards Tena
- breast seating configurations
- while the a 351000 could theoretically
- match the 777 X's capacity if the market
- signals that Airlines need something
- even bigger Airbus will likely
- Greenlight the a350 2000 if that happens
- Airbus could play the hero rescuing
- Airlines fed up with the 777 X's
- constant delays and delivering a more
- reliable efficient aircraft it's a smart
- move that would help Airbus solidify its
- dominance in the Long Haul widebody
- 9:00
- market so what do you think should
- Airbus go ahead and build the a350 2000
